About Melodious Strings
At Khalsa Music Academy, we teach string instruments like the Sitar, Sarod, and Dilruba using a traditional approach. Students learn through disciplined Alankar exercises and Sargam practice to build finger strength and tonal clarity. We host sessions in a classic Baithak setting, which helps students maintain proper posture and focus while mastering the micro-tonal nuances of each Raag.
We offer coaching for a wide range of bowed and plucked instruments, including the Sitar, Sarod, Dilruba, Rabab, and Violin. Our curriculum is built on the foundational pillars of Raag and Taal, ensuring that you understand the structure of the music before advancing to improvisation. You will spend significant time on Sargam patterns, which are the building blocks of melodic expression in Indian classical music.
We also integrate Gurbani Sangeet instruction for those interested in the devotional aspect of these strings. We do not just focus on technique; we prepare students for the stage. Regular concerts and Baithaks are core to our structure, ensuring you gain the confidence to perform in front of an audience.
We understand that selecting the right instrument is a major part of your musical journey. Because we deal in professional-grade Indian musical instruments, our instructors provide expert guidance to help you choose or tune your gear, ensuring it meets the requirements for your level of study. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced student looking to refine your technique in specific Gharana styles, our mentors work with you to ensure your basics are solid.
