We start with the basics, like learning to draw simple outlines of objects and animals before moving on to shading.

About Sketching & Shading Masters

We don't believe in boring practice sheets that take the fun out of learning. Whether you are drawing a simple chess pawn for the first time or layering charcoal for a realistic portrait, we focus on helping you understand light and shadow. It is perfectly okay to make mistakes and get your hands messy here, as that is where the real learning happens.

Sketching is the foundation of all visual art, and we treat it with that level of importance. In our weekend classes, we move beyond just 'drawing' to understanding how to see the world differently.

What We Cover in Class:

  • Graphite Fundamentals: We start with the basics of grip control and line weight. It is the first step for our students to create clean, confident outlines.
  • Charcoal Shading: This is where we bring depth to our work. We teach students how to create moody landscapes and dramatic portraits by removing and layering charcoal.
  • Pen and Ink: For students who love detail, we guide them through precision techniques like cross-hatching and stippling to create sharp, impressive visuals.
  • Subject Variety: We don't just stick to still life. Students draw animals, portraits of their favourite characters, and even outdoor scenes from our nature studies.

Why Choose Our Studio?

We keep our batches intentionally small, between 8 and 12 students. This ensures that every child gets individual attention to work on their specific project, whether they are working on a long-term realistic portrait or a quick sketch. Our environment is informal and collaborative, making it a place where students laugh, learn, and often end up winning national awards for their work. If you are looking for a place where your child can develop their artistic confidence without the pressure of a strict classroom, come join us for a weekend.
