Kids love drawing their favourite characters, and I love teaching them how to do it. From anime heroes to cute animals, join our weekend sessions to bring your imagination to life.

More fun with cartoon characters. The kids had a great time drawing and colouring these.

For Women's Day, some of our students chose to draw Hello Kitty, a beloved character for everyone.

We often use storybook characters like Little Red Riding Hood to make our drawing lessons more engaging and fun.

About Character & Cartoon Corner

Here, we don't just copy pictures. I guide students through the basics of proportions and expression, helping them turn their favourite anime heroes or cartoon animals into their own unique artworks. Whether your child wants to draw Pikachu or complex anime figures, we start with simple shapes and build up, making sure they feel confident about their strokes before adding those vibrant colours.

Why Cartooning?

Drawing familiar characters like anime heroes, cartoon animals, or storybook figures is a fantastic way for children to start their artistic journey. It lowers the intimidation barrier. When a child sees a character they already love, they are instantly engaged and eager to learn the techniques behind it.

Our Approach

  • Proportions First: We don't jump straight into colour. We begin by learning how to sketch basic head shapes, body structure, and facial features. Understanding these proportions is the secret to making a drawing look correct.
  • Expression Matters: A character comes alive through its eyes and expressions. We practice how to show happiness, surprise, or action, which gives kids total creative control.
  • Mediums: Depending on the student's age and interest, we explore these characters using oil pastels for vibrant, solid fills, or fine-liners for detailed shading and ink work.

Who Is This For?

These sessions are part of our weekend batches at both our BTM Layout studio and Sona Vistaas centre. We keep group sizes small—8 to 12 students—so I can personally guide your child through their favourite character's specific features. It is perfect for kids aged 5 and up who are tired of standard school art and want to draw the stuff they actually watch and enjoy.

I started KD School of Arts to share the happiness I get from creating. Whether it is a toddler drawing a clumsy elephant or a teen sketching a detailed anime warrior, I am right there with them, cheering on every line and shading choice.
