Festive Art Classes & Creative Workshops
We turn festivals into art projects. From Yugadi to Independence Day, our students express culture and joy through sketches and paintings.
Happy Yugadi. Our students celebrated the festival by drawing traditional pots and mango leaves, filled with bright, happy colours.
For Mother's Day, our students made these heartwarming drawings for their moms. So much love in every picture.
Happy Women's Day from our little artists. They created sweet cards and drawings to celebrate the amazing women in their lives.
We had a super fun and colourful Holi celebration with all the kids and students. It was a day of pure joy.
For Republic Day, our students practiced their sketching skills by carefully drawing the map of India.
More proud students showing their hand drawn maps of India. A great way to feel patriotic through art.
A collage of Indian flag drawings made by our students to celebrate Independence Day, using both oil pastels and pencil sketching.
To celebrate the Chandrayaan mission, our students created these amazing space and rocket ship drawings with oil pastels.
A collection of colourful artworks celebrating the Sankranti festival, with bonfires and festive drums.
We celebrated Janmashtami by drawing these cute pictures of Baby Krishna. The kids had so much fun with this theme.
About Celebrating Festivals & Special Days
We don't just teach techniques; we turn every festival into a creative project. When we draw Ganesh idols for Chaturthi or flags for Republic Day, kids learn specific shading, layering, and composition skills while feeling a personal connection to the occasion.
Art is a natural way to celebrate, and at our school, we believe in keeping lessons relevant to what kids are excited about. Whether it is the vibrant colours of a Holi celebration or the intricate work required for a Republic Day map sketch, these thematic projects keep students engaged and eager to learn.
Why We Love Festive Themes
- Cultural Connection: Drawing festive scenes helps kids understand their heritage while practicing their craft.
- Skill Building: Different festivals require different approaches. For example, Chandrayaan-themed drawings allow us to practice metallic textures and space sketching, while Yugadi-inspired pots are perfect for learning about symmetry and traditional patterns.
- Confidence: Seeing their own festive drawings displayed in the studio or shared with family gives students a massive boost of pride.
What We Teach
We use a mix of mediums to bring these celebrations to life. Younger students (ages 5-10) often use oil pastels to get bright, bold colours for festival themes, while our older students (ages 11+) use charcoal, watercolours, and fine-liners to add depth and realism to their work. We keep our batches small, with only 8 to 12 students, so I can sit with every child and guide them through their strokes, whether they are perfecting a pencil sketch or mixing the right shade for a festive outfit. It is all about having fun, getting a bit messy, and making something you are genuinely proud of.
KD School of Arts
I started KD School of Art to share the pure happiness that comes from creating. I love watching students light up when they draw something for a special occasion, whether it’s a Mother’s Day card or a colourful festive scene.
