Join our weekend watercolor sessions where we focus on fun, fluid strokes and vibrant washes. Whether your child is a beginner or looking to sharpen their skills, our small, happy groups are the perfect place to start.

A beautiful watercolor painting of Lord Ganesha. This student did an amazing job with the soft washes and monochrome tones.

This realistic still life of a bottle and glasses was done with watercolors by one of our creative senior students. The reflections are amazing.

Practicing how to paint clouds and skies with watercolor. It is all about controlling the water and letting the colours blend naturally.

A collage of custard apple paintings. Students learned to use watercolors to show the unique texture of the fruit.

A fresh watercolor painting of pomegranates on a branch. I love the bright, natural colours in this piece.

A collection of beautiful sunflower paintings. Each student added their own style to this classic watercolor subject.

A watercolor painting of the ghats of Varanasi. I love using this medium to capture the reflections on the water.

An outdoor watercolor session. Painting from life helps students observe colours and light in a new way.

Another beautiful watercolor landscape study. We focus on creating layers and depth with different shades of green.

A quick watercolor study of a poppy field landscape, created to show students how to paint loosely and expressively.

About Wonderful Watercolors

In our weekend watercolor classes, we skip the boring theory. We teach by doing, whether it is capturing the reflections in a glass bottle or learning to blend the sky in a landscape. Since we keep batches small, every student gets personal guidance on handling brushes and mixing pigments, helping them gain confidence with every wash.

I believe that watercolor is the most rewarding medium because of its unpredictability. In my studio, we do not aim for rigid perfection. Instead, we focus on understanding how water behaves with pigment.

How We Learn Watercolors

We start with the basics of brush control and move into techniques like wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry painting. My students learn how to layer colors to build depth, whether they are painting a simple fruit like a pomegranate or a complex landscape of the Varanasi ghats. I encourage everyone to embrace the happy accidents that happen when paint spreads on the paper.

Why Our Weekend Classes Are Different

  • Small Batch Focus: With only 8 to 12 students per session, I make sure everyone gets individual attention. You are never lost in a crowd here.
  • Outdoor Adventures: Whenever the weather permits, we step outside. Painting from life helps students observe light and shadow in the real world rather than just copying images from a screen.
  • No-Pressure Environment: We celebrate the effort and the progress. Whether you are a kid wanting to paint a cartoon mouse or an adult interested in landscape studies, the vibe is always relaxed and creative.

Who This Is For

My classes are ideal for anyone in BTM Layout or Bannerghatta Road looking for a creative outlet on the weekend. We have specific foundation courses for children aged 5 and up, and advanced modules for teens and adults who want to explore portraiture and perspective. If you are ready to get messy, experiment with colors, and make something beautiful, I would love to have you in our studio.

I started KD School of Art because I love seeing that spark of joy when a student completes a painting. We are all about celebrating progress, not perfection, and I am always here to cheer on every brushstroke.
