Behind every emergency call and every meal served is a group of people who refuse to look away. Meet the staff and volunteers at the heart of our Delhi NCR operations.

Thank you to The Better India for covering our story. It started with feeding a few dogs to cope with personal loss and grew into the Karan Puri Foundation, which now feeds 500 dogs and provides ambulance and medical services.

A sterilization drive in progress. We caught two female dogs with our nets and are loading them into the ambulance. Sterilization is a key part of our work to humanely manage the street dog population.

Our team with the amazing vets from Project DOBRO. They conducted 60 successful surgeries at our boarding facility over five days, including sterilizations, tumor removals, and hernia operations.

The entire team, including our local staff and the visiting Russian vets from Project DOBRO. It takes a village to do this work, and we are grateful for everyone involved.

Another group photo with our staff and the Project DOBRO team. These collaborations are vital for bringing specialized veterinary skills to help our street animals.

A candid moment with our team and the Project DOBRO volunteers. We are proud to work with such dedicated professionals from around the world.

Release videos are the happiest ones. Here, Brownie, who was picked up from Muradnagar with a bloody TVT, is released back to his area after being successfully treated. This is a successful rescue, treat, and release operation.

Happy release videos are the best. The dog's friends are all there to greet him as he gets out of the ambulance. Releasing a healthy dog back to its pack is always a joyful moment for our team.

About The Team Behind the Rescues

It takes more than an ambulance to save a life in Delhi's traffic. Our operations rely on a dedicated blend of full-time staff managing our logistics and volunteers who handle the daily feeding routes. Whether it is our driver navigating the rush in South Delhi or our medical handlers assisting in sterilization camps with partners like Project DOBRO, every member of our team is vital to keeping the foundation running through the toughest, most emotionally draining shifts.

Our foundation isn't a faceless organization; it is a collective of people who have decided that Delhi’s community dogs are not just 'stray' animals—they are ours. We run a 24/7 emergency ambulance service, but the engine of this work is the human element.

We collaborate with experts to bring specialized care where it is needed most. For instance, our partnerships with international veterinary teams like Project DOBRO allow us to conduct massive sterilization and surgery camps, handling everything from hernia repairs to tumor excisions right here in our boarding facility. This ensures that we aren't just putting a band-aid on a problem but providing long-term health solutions.

However, the reality of our work is exhausting. Our team faces the daily grind of street harassment, police complaints, and the emotional toll of critical rescues. Despite this, we continue because we see the difference—not just in the dogs we save, but in the community we are building. We are always looking for more hands on deck, whether for rescue assistance, feeding, or spreading the word. If you are tired of watching the injustice on the streets and want to move from sympathy to action, you are the person we are looking for.
