Emergency Rescue & Day 1 Triage
Logistics & Transport
- Ambulance Dispatch: Deployment of modified Maruti Eeco ambulance with basic Air Conditioning and transport cages.
- Catching Team: Two-person team (Driver + Handler) with nets, blankets, and muzzles for securing aggressive or traumatized animals.
- Coverage Area: Service radius covers South Delhi and wider NCR regions (Noida/Gurgaon borders).
Medical Admission (Day 1)
- Veterinary Consultation: Immediate physical examination at partner clinics.
- Diagnostics: CBC/KFT/LFT blood work to check for organ failure and X-rays for suspected fractures.
- Trauma Stabilization: Administration of IV fluids, painkillers, anti-tetanus shots, and cleaning of superficial wounds.
Documentation
- Proof of Service: Photo/Video confirmation of clinic arrival and digital sharing of diagnosis report.
Critical Surgery & 30-Day Recovery
Surgical Intervention
- Major Procedures: Coverage for limb amputation, tumor excision, hernia repair, or orthopedic pinning.
- Anesthesia & OT: Sterile operation theater usage with inhalant (gas) anesthesia for safe sedation.
- Pre-Op: Fasting supervision and pre-anesthetic testing.
Post-Operative Boarding
- Medical Stay: 15 to 30 days of recovery stay at Pawsion facility or partner boarding.
- Wound Management: Daily dressing changes, surgical site cleaning, and suture removal.
- Nutrition: High-protein recovery diet (Chicken, Rice, Egg, Curd) for tissue healing.
Protocol
- Release: Transport back to original territory upon full healing (Treat & Release policy).
Monthly Assisted Living & Shelter
Accommodation & Hygiene
- Shelter: Designated spot with cemented flooring, air coolers/fans in summer, and winter bedding.
- Assisted Living: Manual bladder expression, changing of absorbent sheets, and regular turning for paralyzed dogs to prevent bedsores.
Diet & Health
- Daily Meals: Freshly cooked food (Rice & Chicken/Meat mix) served twice daily.
- Medical Support: Administration of joint supplements, liver tonics, and calcium for geriatric cases.
- Parasite Control: Monthly spot-on treatments or tick baths.
Reporting
- Status Updates: Periodic video shared regarding health status and activity levels.

What Drives Us
‘Awaara nahi, hamara hai’ - that’s what we believe at the Karan Puri Foundation. Every injured or abandoned dog on Delhi-NCR streets is one of ours. We step in where others look away, making sure community dogs and abandoned pets get the emergency care they need.
When We Step In
- Accidents: Hit by vehicles, bad injuries
- Severe illness: Maggot wounds, tick fever, paralysis, infections
- Abuse: Cases of beating, starvation, cruelty
- Abandonment: Old or sick pets left behind
- Frail seniors: Blind, weak, or just too old to survive alone
What We Actually Do
When you spot an animal in trouble, we send out our emergency animal ambulance Delhi. AC on full blast, because Delhi ki garmi (Delhi’s heat) is no joke for these bachhe (kids). One rescue at a time - we don’t stack cases, so sometimes there’s a wait. If we’re tied up, we’ll honestly point you to other help.
- Immediate vet care at trusted clinics for X-rays, blood tests, whatever’s needed.
- Surgery or long-term recovery? We shift them to medical boarding for rescued animals till they’re okay.
- If they can go back, we release them in the same spot. If not, our shelter is their forever home.
The Tough Bits
- We don’t relocate healthy dogs or do burial services.
- Costs are tough - vet bills pile up, we aren’t funded by anyone except everyday folks.

My Story
Log bolte hain, 'itna pyaar hai toh ghar le jao', par bhai, sabke ghar already full hain. Har din harassment milta hai, gaaliyan bhi. Kabhi kabhi toh feeders ko maar bhi padti hai, bas kyunki hum sadak ke bachhon ko khana khilate hain. Lekin jab ek 'bag of bones' ko khush dekhte hain, saari thakaan gayab ho jaati hai. Yeh hamare bachhe hain, unke liye ladte rahenge. Yeh awaara nahi, hamara hai.
