Single Stray Monthly Sustenance
Nutritional Intake
- Daily Fresh Meal: 300g to 400g serving of semi-liquid rice and chicken mash ensuring hydration.
- Ingredients: 'Lodi Cut' chicken trimmings boiled with broken rice and turmeric for immunity.
- Crisis Ration: Dry kibble or gravy pouches substituted during heavy rains or operational constraints.
Delivery Logistics
- Timing: Late evening service to avoid high traffic and ensure animal safety.
- Serving Method: Placed on old newspapers to prevent ground contamination and ensure easy cleanup.
- Transport: Covers fuel costs for the delivery van reaching specific points like Okhla or Ashram.
Basic Care
- Visual Check: Daily scan for open wounds, maggots, or limping during feeding time.
- Socialization: Basic human interaction to maintain trust for future sterilization needs.
Full Day Mega Feeding Drive
Mass Scale Production
- Volume: Approx 200kg of fresh chicken-rice stew prepared in the community kitchen.
- Reach: Covers 450 to 700 animals (dogs, cats, and cows) depending on the turnout.
- Menu: Chicken-rice mash for dogs/cats; bread and veg waste for cows.
Route Operations
- Geography: Covers 15+ locations including New Friends Colony, Jamia, and Mayur Vihar.
- Fleet: Deployment of 2 to 3 vans and 3 to 5 staff members for distribution.
- Logistics: Fuel and wear-and-tear coverage for off-road driving in flood plain terrains.
Donor Updates
- Proof of Service: Photos and videos shared from the specific sponsored drive.
- Acknowledgement: Social media mention thanking the sponsor (optional).
Monthly Pack Sponsorship (20 Dogs)
Dedicated Rationing
- Volume: Approximately 600 fresh meals delivered to a specific cluster over 30 days.
- Customization: Inclusion of high-protein puppy mush if the pack has a new litter.
Conflict Management
- Advocacy: Active intervention against RWAs or guards preventing feeding in high-hostility zones.
- Safety: Strategically moving the pack from main roads to service lanes during feeding to prevent accidents.
Hygiene & First Aid
- Spot Cleaning: Post-feeding cleanup of newspapers to prevent local resident complaints.
- Medical: On-spot application of Betadine or Himax for minor injuries observed during the month.

What We Stand For
At Karan Puri Foundation, feeding animals in Delhi-NCR isn’t a side project, it’s our daily grind. For more than 15 years, we’ve been out there, making sure no dog, cat, or even cow is left hungry. Yeh sab hamare bachhe hain (These are all our kids) - not just random strays. Every day, we’re serving fresh meals for stray animals who have no one else.
Our Approach
- Community kitchen, not just packets of kibble: We cook ghar ka khaana - fresh rice, chicken, whatever the animals actually want to eat. Especially for the sick or old ones, fresh food is the only thing they’ll touch.
- Massive operation, small team: Our feeder bhaiya and crew load up and cover spots across New Friends Colony, Ashram, Mayur Vihar, DND Flyway, Okhla, and more. Delhi street animal food drive toh daily hai (this food drive is a daily thing).
- Not just normal days - even crisis time: Floods? COVID? Our vans and ambulance hit the road, reaching animals stranded anywhere. No one gets left behind.
The Real Struggle
This work isn’t cute or easy. RWAs shout, police complaints come, sometimes we get hurt. But khauf nahi hai (no fear). This city belongs to these animals too.

My Story
Log bolte hain, 'itna pyaar hai toh ghar le jao', par bhai, sabke ghar already full hain. Har din harassment milta hai, gaaliyan bhi. Kabhi kabhi toh feeders ko maar bhi padti hai, bas kyunki hum sadak ke bachhon ko khana khilate hain. Lekin jab ek 'bag of bones' ko khush dekhte hain, saari thakaan gayab ho jaati hai. Yeh hamare bachhe hain, unke liye ladte rahenge. Yeh awaara nahi, hamara hai.
