About Urban Design & Master Planning
How We See Urban Design
For me, urban design isn't just about arranging buildings on a map. It's about setting up spaces that actually make a difference in how people live, meet, and feel in the city. I always try to read the vibe of a place before doing anything. Every site has a story, and I want my work to be part of that story, not just something new dropped in.
Our Way of Planning
I start by soaking in everything about the site - its history, what locals love, the weird bits of the land. Sometimes I just sit, sketch, and let ideas come. Other times it's all about crunching numbers and looking at the slope or sun. If the terrain is tricky, like a steep ghat or a riverbank, I don't fight it - I use it. Mood boards, quick sketches, and a lot of walking around help me figure out what fits and what should be left alone.
What We Actually Do
- In crowded places like Mumbai, I design buildings that breathe. Plazas open up the ground floor, making it feel like the street is part of the building.
- For bigger community layouts, I like to make spaces where you can just walk, chill, and bump into people. Goa projects with only pedestrian alleys and surprise corners work great for that.
- If there's a tough site, like a hillside, I go for terrain-responsive design. Floating decks, semi-basements, and walkable green roofs are my jam - they connect people to nature instead of covering it up.
- I always try to mix in sustainable city planning, so these places aren’t just nice now, but also hold up for future generations.
This work is about making cities feel lived-in, not just built up.

My Story
Hey, I’m Jugal. Started JMA back in 2012—big dreams, small sketches, lot of chai. Columbia changed how I see cities, and working abroad? Total eye-opener. I’m all for mixing old-school hand sketches with new ideas, not just computer stuff. Awards are cool, but honestly, it’s the tough projects that keep me sharp. Been through my own share of ups and downs lately, but that’s brought a new kinda fire to my work.
My Work
What We Do - We handle architecture, interiors, and urban design—residential, commercial, hospitality, and more. From luxury villas to big city projects.
Context Matters Most - Every project starts with the site’s story. We let history, culture, even the weather guide our contextual architecture design.
Wellness in Every Space - We create urban wellness spaces—quiet, calm, intuitive layouts, where light and touch matter as much as looks.
Smart & Sustainable - Always prefer sustainable local materials. It’s practical, eco-friendly, and just fits better with each place.
Understated, Not Loud - We don’t shout. Our work’s about quiet confidence, letting the design and hand-sketched concept plans do the talking.
