How I See Cities
Cities aren’t just about buildings, they’re about people and how we live together. For us, urban design is all about making places where folks actually want to hang out and feel good.
What Guides Our Work
- People come first. We want spaces that work for everyone – kids, elders, whoever.
- Sustainability isn’t a tick mark. Green urban spaces and climate-responsive architecture are baked into our designs.
- We listen to what’s local. Every project is shaped by the area’s vibe, weather, and people.
What We Do
We tackle everything from reimagining old housing societies to plotting out new townships. Our sweet spot is making dense areas more livable, whether that means swapping low-rise buildings for towers or carving out more open space.
- We get deep into community-led redevelopment, helping societies through permissions and paperwork, not just the design.
- Public spaces matter - think interactive courtyards, walkable trails, and plazas that actually get used.
- Nature is a must. You’ll see gardens, terraces, and plenty of trees in our plans.
- We plan big too - mixed-use masterplanning for campuses, corporate townships, and new communities.
How We Work With You
We believe in charcha (conversation) - our best ideas come from talking with residents and local authorities. Workshops and debates are part of the journey, not just a checkbox.

My Story
Hey, we’re IMK Architects. Been around Mumbai for 65 years, but we’re always learning, always experimenting. Our thing? Architecture that feels alive, not just walls and roofs. Rahul, our principal, keeps saying it’s all about connecting people, making spaces that help folks grow. Whether we’re sketching out a busy campus or a peaceful garden, we’re chasing that vibe where everyone belongs. We’re big on community, workshops, and those spontaneous walks that spark new ideas.
