How I Design
- Nature comes first. I’m big on making eco-friendly choices and using natural materials.
- No cookie-cutter stuff here - I design for your lifestyle, not what’s trending.
- Every site is different, so I let the land guide me. From steep hills in Khandala to palm groves in Goa, I find inspiration in the setting itself.
- I obsess over the details. Some people call it “OCD,” but that’s how you get a space that really feels right.
What I Create
- Homes: I design bespoke luxury villas and apartments where seamless indoor-outdoor living is the norm. Think lush greenery, private courtyards, skylights, and local stone or wood.

My Story
Hey, we’re Alan and Anca, running Abraham John Architects, the firm my dad kicked off way back in ’67. I grew up dodging giant drawing boards and started out designing septic tanks underground—yeah, not glamorous, but it taught me grit. Anca, my partner, came from Romania, and we met in France. Now, she’s more Mumbai than me! Our kids are ‘Karmatte’—a wild mix of Konkani and Romanian. We’re all about making the city better, not just buildings. Chalta hai? Nah, we’d rather fix it.
