Our pickles and chutneys aren't made in a factory. They come straight from our kitchen, sun-dried and slow-cooked the way our nani-dadi taught us. A single spoonful adds that missing Bihari kick to your dal-chawal or parathas.

A comforting bowl of Palak Dal Khichdi is made even more special with a dollop of our zesty Mithila mango pickle. The savory lentils, fluffy rice, and rich spinach come together in perfect harmony with the tangy notes of the achar, elevating every spoonful.

Sattu Paratha is a powerhouse of nutrition and taste, a tradition in Bihar that kept farmers energized. Here is our simple recipe for this hearty paratha, best served hot with a side of dahi and your favorite JhaJi achar.

See how you can give a chatpata twist to the famous Jharkhand Dhuska. This Dhuska Chaat is made by mixing our Garlic Ginger Green Chili Mix Achar into the batter and topping it with dahi and our tangy Imli Chutney. A perfect festive snack.

Have you ever tried Achaari Maggi? Here's a quick recipe using a mix of our pickles like Ginger Garlic Green Chili, Grated Raw Mango, and Mithila Special Mango to create a uniquely tangy and spicy Maggi that you will love.

Lauki Chane ki Dal, also known as Kaddu Dal in Eastern India, is a comforting dish often made during Chhath Puja. Here is a simple recipe for this flavorful dal, finished with a fragrant tadka of ghee and jeera. It's a true winter favorite.

The secret to a perfect Toor Dal lies in traditional cooking. Using desi beej (native seeds) and slow-cooking it in a mitti handi (clay pot) brings out a rich, hearty flavor that modern methods can't replicate. This is purity and patience in a bowl.

Cooking over a mitti ka chulha (clay stove) is an art. The slow, even heat adds a rustic, earthy flavor to the dal that is truly special. It’s a taste that connects you to the roots of our culinary traditions.

The art of slow cooking in a mitti handi allows every ingredient to blend perfectly. The low flame ensures the spices, tomatoes, and chilies simmer gently, building layers of flavor that make the dal incredibly delicious.

We use a mix of rich, farm-grown ingredients to build our flavors. Fresh tomatoes, green chilies, and aromatic spices are gently simmered together, creating a base that is both wholesome and deeply flavorful.

The magic of farm-fresh ghee is the foundation of a flavorful dal. Made from cows raised on a local farm, this pure ghee adds a richness and aroma that elevates the entire dish.

About Achaar & Chutney in Your Kitchen

You might notice a layer of mustard oil on top of your jar—this isn't just about flavour. We use raw Kachi Ghani mustard oil as a natural preservative to keep our chutneys fresh and pungent without any chemical additives. It is exactly why these chutneys hit differently; make sure to keep your jar upright to maintain that protective oil seal.

Our Handmade Process

We don't do mass production. Every jar is made by women from Mithilanchal using ingredients sourced from local farmers near Darbhanga. We rely on the sun to dry our spices and ingredients, and we use a silbatta style of grinding to keep the texture chunky and authentic. There are no shortcuts, no vinegar, and no sodium benzoate.

How to Enjoy Your JhaJi

These aren't just for parathas.

  • The Quick Fix: Stir a spoonful into your instant noodles for an instant 'achaari' twist.
  • The Comfort Meal: Add a dollop to your plain dal-chawal or khichdi to elevate a simple meal into something hearty.
  • The Snack Companion: Use our Imli or Tomato Garlic chutney as a dip for Dhuska or simple fritters.

Important Storage Tips

Because we use live, natural ingredients and pure mustard oil, our pickles are sensitive to moisture. Always use a clean, dry spoon every time you take some out. Keep the jars away from direct water contact, and they will stay fresh and flavourful for months. Remember to keep the jar upright, especially during travel, to prevent the oil from leaking.
