Experience the slow-cooked, sun-dried traditions of Mithila in every jar. Our pickles and chutneys are crafted by the women of our community, keeping the taste of home alive.

Making achar is a process that requires patience and love, just like our mothers and grandmothers used to do. It takes 10 to 15 days of carefully cleaning, mixing with home-ground spices, and sun-drying to create that perfect jar. We follow this same traditional method to bring you the authentic, sondha swaad of ghar ka achar.

We preserve our pickles the old-school way, just like our ancestors did. We use only natural ingredients like salt, oil, and time. Patience is a key ingredient in our kitchen, as we believe some things simply cannot be rushed. This ensures our pickles are free from any lab-made ingredients.

Because real hands don't mass-produce, no two batches of our pickles are exactly alike. One might be a little tangier, the next a bit spicier. This variation is the sign of a truly handmade product, made with care and not by a machine.

Just like the famous makhana of Darbhanga, our pickles are a core part of Mithila's food culture. Every family has its own secret recipe. We bring you these traditional Bihari pickles, made with locally grown fruits, vegetables, and spices by the women of our community.

This Madhubani-style art, created with the help of AI, beautifully captures our process of making Lal Mirch Bharua Achar. From sorting the fresh Banarasi red chilies to sun-drying and packing them into jars, it celebrates the blend of our heritage, art, and the love we put into every jar.

I stand by the "Label Padhega India" campaign. The promise I make is simple: the same achar I feed my children and husband is the one I send to you. We use fresh vegetables from local farmers and roasted spices, with no colors or chemicals, so you can trust what you are eating.

What makes a mother's achar special? It's not just the recipe, but the ingredients she trusts. The haldi from the local haat, methi roasted on a chulha, and mustard oil so pure it hits your throat. You never needed a label because you trusted her. We follow that same principle of trust.

Our pickles don't come from a factory line. They come from the hands of women who stir with wooden spoons and clean jars with their own cloth. This personal touch, this handmade process, is what gives our achar its unique, comforting taste.

About Ghar Jaisa Swaad: Our Handmade Process

We don't use machines to mass-produce our pickles. Every single jar follows a 10 to 15-day ritual that begins with fresh vegetables from Darbhanga farmers, hand-chopped and slow-cured under the sun. That pungent, sharp aroma you get when you open the lid comes from raw, cold-pressed mustard oil, not factory chemicals.
