I combine functional strength, heavy lifting, and bodyweight drills to build a resilient, powerful body. There are no shortcuts here, just hard work and results.

This is what dedication looks like. My client Kamal started at 90kg and, through consistent training, dropped to 80kg in six months. A fantastic transformation.

My own transformation, from 78.7kg to 72.75kg in two months for a competition. Martial arts is a complete fitness lifestyle.

Strength training is a core part of my routine. Here I am doing deadlifts, a key exercise for building the posterior chain strength needed for explosive power.

A front physique shot. Strength and conditioning are crucial for any fighter to perform at their best and prevent injuries.

A back physique shot. A strong back is the foundation for powerful punches and kicks.

Your body is your weapon, keep it strong. This is the result of consistent strength training.

After a tough strength session, I like to incorporate some yoga. This is the Bakasana (Crow Pose), which is great for balance and core strength.

About Beyond the Punches: Full-Body Conditioning

We move beyond typical gym routines by using functional equipment like agility ladders, tractor tires, and free weights to develop raw power. I focus heavily on the posterior chain. Deadlifts are a staple here because a strong foundation is what separates a casual trainee from a resilient athlete.

At Sai MMA Academy, we treat the human body like a mechanical system that needs proper calibration. Whether you are a competitive fighter or someone just looking to get fit, my approach remains the same: discipline and consistent training.

I run sessions out of two primary locations, an open-air shed setup in Electronic City and an indoor studio in HSR Layout. We do not rely on machines to do the work for you. Instead, we use free weights, kettlebells, and bodyweight calisthenics. You will be doing deadlifts, cleans, and plyometric drills that target your explosive power.

For those who think training ends when you step off the mat, I incorporate elements of yoga, such as the Bakasana pose, to improve balance, core stability, and active recovery. A fighter’s body must be as flexible as it is strong to prevent injuries during sparring.

We cater to everyone from complete beginners to serious fighters. If you are starting from scratch, I will build your foundation first with basic movements before we load up on intensity. If you are an experienced athlete, we get into technical strength work and video-analyzed drills to refine your mechanics. The goal is simple: leave the session better than you entered. No gimmicks, just sweat and progress. Avvalothan.

I am Babu. A mechanical engineer by degree, but the mats are where I really work. I do not believe in quick fixes. I believe in showing up, doing the drills, and getting stronger every single day.
