Homemade Diwali Faral & Festive Snacks
Traditional Diwali Faral made fresh in my kitchen, without any artificial colours or preservatives. Every box is prepared to order, just like I would make it for my own family.
My Diwali sweets and namkeen, all packed and ready for delivery. This video shows my Bhajni Chakli, Poha Chivda, Besan Laddoos, and Ajwain Sev, made in small batches to ensure the best quality.
Watch the making of my Namkeen Shankarpale, a classic Diwali snack. The dough is rolled thin and cut into diamonds before being fried to a perfect crisp. The aroma of these frying in ghee fills my home during the festival.
The secret to perfectly crispy and flaky sweet Shankarpale lies in the layers. Here you can see the process from cutting the dough to frying these golden brown treats, a must have for any Diwali celebration.
Karanji, also known as Gujiya, is a sweet fried pastry filled with coconut, mawa, and dry fruits. It is an essential part of my Diwali and Holi menu, and each one is shaped by hand.
A complete festive meal featuring my Mawa Karanji. It is served here with Kairi Rice and other traditional dishes, making for a perfect celebratory lunch during the festive season.
It was a fulfilling experience to offer my homemade Diwali sweets and namkeen at the centuries old Marubai temple, the Gram Devta of Matunga. Moments like these are truly a blessing.
About Diwali Faral (Festive Snacks & Sweets)
Because I prepare these in small, manageable batches to maintain quality, I suggest placing your orders a few days early. This ensures the Bhajni Chakli remains perfectly crisp and the Karanji filling stays fresh, without any reliance on chemical preservatives or bulk production shortcuts.
Diwali is a special time of year, and for me, it is all about bringing the authentic taste of tradition to your home. My faral recipes, including the Bhajni Chakli, crispy Poha Chivda, and melt in your mouth Besan Laddoos, come straight from my mother and grandmother.
I never compromise on purity. You will find no artificial food colours, no chemical preservatives, and no vinegar in any of my snacks. Every item, from the thinly rolled Shankarpale to the hand-pleated Karanji, is crafted by hand in my home kitchen in Matunga. I believe that food is divine, or 'Ann he Purnabrahma', and that philosophy guides everything I prepare.
Since I operate as a home kitchen, I intentionally limit my production capacity. This is why I do not list myself on bulk delivery apps like Swiggy or Zomato. When you order from me, you are getting food that is made fresh, specifically for you, not something that has been sitting in storage.
Whether it is the aromatic Ajwain Sev or the festive Anarse, I pour the same love into these snacks that I would for my own family. If you are planning a celebration or looking to gift authentic homemade treats this festive season, please reach out to me in advance to ensure availability. I am happy to cater to individual households or corporate orders for 20 to 30 staff members, provided you book early.
