About Winter & Harvest Treats
I make my chikki the old-school way, using only high-quality jaggery and roasted peanuts. No shortcuts here. Because the jaggery is pure, you get that perfect crunch without it sticking to your teeth—a common headache with mass-produced options. Whether you are grabbing a pack for family or gifting it for Makar Sankranti, this is that honest, winter comfort food you are looking for.
When the winter chill hits Mumbai, the craving for something warm and traditional is real. For me, that means starting the process early—sourcing the right sesame seeds for Til Ladoos and ensuring the peanuts for my Chikki are roasted to that exact golden brown.
Why these treats matter
Sankranti and Lohri aren't just festivals; they are about sharing. My Til Chikki and Ladoos are designed to be part of that sharing. I don't use heavy preservatives because I want you to taste the jaggery and the seeds, not chemicals.
What goes into the batch:
- Til Ladoo: Only fresh, cleaned sesame seeds mixed with aromatic jaggery. No hard, inedible lumps.
- Peanut Chikki: High nut-to-jaggery ratio. I believe you should taste the peanut in every bite, not just the sugar.
- Festive Gifting: If you are visiting family, I have these packed in clean, moisture-proof containers so they stay crunchy even in the Mumbai humidity.
Whether you are based in Kurla or passing through the CST subway, drop by the store. I always keep a fresh batch ready during the harvest season. If you are ordering for an office event or a big family gathering, just give me a heads-up a day before so I can pack it fresh for you.
