We turn abstract concepts into tactile experiences. From LEGO builds to geometric origami, our workshops help children explore the logic behind numbers in a pressure-free environment.

It’s always a joy to see my Math From Scratch program come to life in schools. Here, I’m with two young learners who have just completed a hands-on activity. My goal is to empower both students and teachers to build a strong, joyful foundation in mathematics from the very beginning.

This is my happy place, a classroom buzzing with curiosity and engagement. I believe in creating a dynamic, interactive space where children feel empowered to ask questions, explore ideas, and participate fully. Seeing hands shoot up like this is a reminder that when we make learning active, children are naturally eager to join in.

It was a joy to be part of this Open House event. This video captures the energy and excitement of the day, where my son Kai helped demonstrate our games and tools. It was a beautiful showcase of what happens when children are empowered to lead their own learning.

This flyer for a pop-up event captures the spirit of Hattennoki. It’s all about imagining, creating, and connecting through play-based learning in math, reading, and social-emotional skills. I love bringing these interactive experiences to the community.

Origami is a beautiful intersection of art, geometry, and precision. In this workshop, we explored how folding paper can bring mathematical concepts to life. It’s a perfect example of how hands-on activities can make learning both engaging and profound.

Look at the focus on this young learner's face as he works on his origami creation. This is what happens when we connect learning to something creative and tangible. He isn't just folding paper; he's exploring geometry, following a sequence, and practicing fine motor skills.

The simple act of folding paper can teach complex concepts. These small hands are busy creating patterns and shapes, learning about symmetry and angles without even realizing it. This is the magic of multi-sensory learning.

Here, a young student is deeply engaged in an origami project. This kind of focused, hands-on work is not just about creating something beautiful; it's about developing patience, perseverance, and a keen eye for detail.

These intricate origami modules are the result of patience and precision. They are a stunning visual representation of how simple folds can combine to create complex geometric structures, blending art and mathematics perfectly.

The creases on this paper tell a story of exploration and discovery. Each fold is a step in a logical process, a hands-on lesson in geometry and spatial reasoning. This is learning that you can literally feel.

About Interactive Math & STEM Workshops

In our workshops, you will not see standard worksheets or repetitive drills. Instead, we use hands-on tools like traditional weighing scales to teach mass or origami paper folding to master geometric angles. When a child learns to balance physical weights to understand equilibrium or folds paper to see symmetry, they aren't just memorizing formulas. They are building a tactile, intuitive sense of how math and engineering principles actually work in the real world.
