Why I Do This
I started Hattennoki because I kept seeing kids dreading math or reading, and it hit me - it's not the subjects, it's how they're taught. I wanted to help kids actually enjoy learning, not just chase marks.
What We Offer
- Early year foundational programs in math and reading
- Personalized tutoring (1-on-1 or small groups) for KG to IGCSE/IBDP
- Interactive workshops and camps - not the boring kind, I promise
How We Teach
- Play-based and multi-sensory - think Lego, stories, and our Yonjuu card game
- Focus on "why," not just "how"
- No-pressure zone, so kids don't freeze up with anxiety
For Young Learners (Ages 4-9)
- Math from Scratch: Builds number sense and what I call "math agility" through games and patterns - perfect for math enrichment for kids
- L2R R2L: Science of reading tutoring that goes from phonics to real comprehension
For Older Students
- Academic support up to IGCSE and IBDP, always starting from where the student is right now. I believe in strengthening basics first, not just drilling for tests.
Beyond Just Classes
- Problem-solving camps, parent-child workshops, hands-on learning workshops, and STEM sessions - sometimes in English, sometimes a bit of Kannada or Hindi thrown in if it helps the kids feel at home.

My Story
We’re Hattennoki, not mountain folks but city souls with roots in Uttarakhand. Delhi born, US trained, I lost my mom but gained a new view – heritage matters, even in math class. My son Kai sparked it all. Was a high school math teacher, but saw kids struggling, confidence missing. So, I switched gears. Now, it’s all about blending real learning, emotional care, and a bit of family magic. We want kids to thrive, wherever they land.
My Work
Consultancy, Workshops & Training - We work with schools, parents, and educators. Sessions dig deep into hands-on math workshops, Science of Reading, and social-emotional learning.
Kids & Family Learning Programs - Our Math from Scratch and Learn to Read, Read to Learn programs build real confidence, not just rote skills. Group or solo, always joyful.
Learning Tools & Games - We create stuff like Yonjuu math cards and play-based learning kits. Kids get to touch, play, and really understand what they’re learning.
