I've captured the tangy, spicy flavour of street-side pani puri in these roasted cashews. This is one of my favourite chaat-inspired nuts, served here in a simple bowl, ready to be enjoyed with a hot cup of chai.
This is my take on the classic Dahi Papdi Chaat, transformed into healthy roasted quinoa puffs. They are light, crunchy, and packed with the familiar tangy and savoury flavours of chaat, making for a perfect evening snack.
Here are my Cheddar Cheese Makhana, a modern twist on a classic healthy snack. These roasted fox nuts are light, irresistibly crunchy, and seasoned for a cheesy flavour that satisfies without the guilt of fried snacks.
My Jor Garam Cranberry Mix is a delightful trail mix with a blend of textures and flavours. It combines the sweetness of cranberries with the savoury crunch of nuts and puffed rice, making it a satisfying snack for any time of day.
About Chaat-Inspired & Savoury Crunch
Most people assume that if it is roasted, it is boring, but we treat our spices like we are balancing a proper Pani Puri stall. We do not use heavy deep-frying; instead, we dry-roast everything in small batches so the spice blends actually stick to the nut or puff, rather than sliding off into a pile of oil at the bottom of the jar.
How We Get That Street-Side Crunch
When we started Goosebumps 13 years ago, our goal was simple: get the exact taste of a Mumbai street stall into a jar that stays fresh for months. Achieving that without deep-frying is a challenge we have spent years perfecting.
We source whole spices like black salt, amchur, and roasted cumin, grinding them slow to keep the aroma intact. When you open our Pani Puri Cashews or Dahi Papdi Quinoa Puffs, you are smelling the same base ingredients used in fresh chaat. We apply a light roast to the nuts and puffs, ensuring they have that satisfying snap, then coat them in our concentrated spice blends. Because we do not use palm oil for deep-frying, these snacks remain light and shelf-stable for up to 9 months.
Why Choose Our Roasted Snacks?
- No Added Preservatives: We rely on proper drying techniques and airtight induction sealing to keep things fresh.
- Diet-Friendly Swaps: If you love the crunch of traditional savoury snacks but want to avoid the excess oil, our roasted makhana and quinoa puffs provide that same satisfaction.
- Real Ingredient Profiles: Whether it is the tang of our cranberry mixes or the savoury hit of our cheddar makhana, the flavour profile is built to mimic complex dishes, not just generic 'masala'.
Storage Tips
Because these are made in small batches without artificial binders, keep the lid screwed tight. Moisture is the enemy of a good crunch. If you live in a humid city, just ensure the induction seal is replaced or the lid is locked after every session. It keeps the snacks as crispy on the last day as they were on the first.
Goosebumps
We started Goosebumps 13 years ago in a small kitchen, just chasing that perfect taste of home we grew up with. Today, we are still here in Mumbai, making every batch of these snacks by hand because we believe snacking should feel as warm as a Sunday afternoon with family.
