My journey in Kathak is a continuous pursuit of grace and discipline. These moments of recognition are humbling reminders of the blessings from my gurus, Maharaj ji and Saswati Didi, and the duty I hold to preserve our traditions.

A deeply humbling moment, receiving the Rashtriya Achiever Award for my contribution to the field of Kathak. I accept it with immense gratitude to my gurus, Pt. Birju Maharaj ji and Saswati Sen ji.

Posing with the Rashtriya Achiever Award. This award is not just a personal achievement but a responsibility to continue my 'sadhana' and guide the next generation of dancers with devotion.

It was a blessing to perform a short Kathak piece at the Rashtriya Achiever Award ceremony. Dance is my prayer, and I was grateful to share it on such a prestigious platform.

Receiving a certificate of appreciation at Shaheed Rajguru College for judging their annual fest. Being recognized for my role as an adjudicator is always a great honor.

The Certificate of Honour from Sangam’24 at Shaheed Rajguru College, Delhi University. Every such acknowledgment reinforces my commitment to contributing to the arts community.

Being felicitated at Apeejay School, Saket, after judging their event "Thirkan’23". These gestures of respect from educational institutions mean a great deal to me.

About Awards and Recognition

Receiving the Rashtriya Achiever Award and serving as a judge for institutions like SRCC and Apeejay School are not just accolades; they are opportunities to share the wisdom I have inherited through my guru kripa (blessings). When I step into a role as an adjudicator, I look beyond technical perfection to find the Bhaav (emotion) and sincerity that truly define a dancer. If you are looking for an experienced judge or a seasoned performer to bring depth to your cultural event, reach out to discuss your requirements.

Honoring the Tradition

My recognition as an artist is deeply tied to the Lucknow Gharana traditions passed down by my gurus, Pt. Birju Maharaj and Saswati Sen. Whether I am performing on stage or observing young talent at college fests like Sangam’24, the goal remains the same: to uphold the sanctity of the classical form.

My Approach to Adjudication

Judging is a responsibility I take to heart. It is a dialogue between the artist on stage and the observer.

  • Technical Integrity: I evaluate Taal (rhythm) and Laya (tempo) while ensuring the foundational techniques are sound.
  • Soulful Expression: For me, Bhaav is paramount. A dancer might have flawless footwork, but if the story does not connect with the audience, the art remains incomplete.
  • Constructive Growth: My aim as a judge is to provide feedback that helps students understand their potential rather than just assigning a rank.

Past Engagements

I am grateful for the invitations to evaluate talent at platforms including:

  • Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences: Judging the annual fest, Sangam’24.
  • Apeejay School, Saket: Evaluating performances for Thirkan’23.
  • Educational Institutions: Numerous school and college-level cultural events across Delhi and Mumbai.

Each certificate and award is a milestone, but the true joy lies in witnessing the next generation embrace our heritage. Whether you are hosting a university cultural day or a formal classical event, I bring both an adjudicator’s eye and a performer’s heart to your event.
