When I sit on the jury, my goal is to provide feedback that truly helps dancers grow. I look beyond perfect technique to find the Bhaav (emotion) and sincerity in every performance, whether it is a school-level folk dance or a competitive classical piece.
For me, dance is a continuous journey of learning. My path has been shaped by the guru kripa (blessings) of Pt. Birju Maharaj ji and Saswati Senji, and everything I do—whether on the judging panel or the stage—reflects that Lucknow Gharana foundation.
When judging, I view it as an opportunity to nurture. At events in institutions like SRCC, Shaheed Rajguru, or various school competitions, I do not just assign scores. I focus on Taal (rhythm), Laya (tempo), and the depth of Bhaav (emotion). I offer constructive, on-mic feedback that helps students understand the 'why' behind the movement.
My judging packages are designed to bring real value to your event:
- Standard Judging (4 Hours): Ideal for smaller competitions where concise evaluation and a motivational closing address are key.
- Full-Day Adjudication (8 Hours): Perfect for larger fests. This includes a 15-minute live Kathak demonstration. Seeing the nuances of Chakkars and Padhant live often inspires the participants and sets a professional tone for the day.
I am based in Delhi and Mumbai but travel across India to support dance communities. Whether it is a classical dance contest, a college cultural fest, or a corporate event, my priority is maintaining the dignity of the art while providing fair, insightful evaluation.
