My Competitive Weightlifting Journey
I do not just teach the snatch and clean & jerk—I live them. Here is a look at my journey from the competition platform to refereeing state championships, where I constantly refine the craft I share with my athletes.
This is the moment of truth in a competition. Executing a heavy clean and jerk under the pressure of judges and an audience is the ultimate test of an athlete's physical and mental preparation.
A look back at my first championship in 2009. This was the beginning of my journey in competitive weightlifting, a sport that demands everything from you.
Competing at the Delhi State Weightlifting Championship in 2019. There is no strength without struggle, and every competition is a chance to prove how far you've come.
It's incredibly rewarding to see my clients succeed in competition. This athlete shows amazing power and composure, successfully completing her clean and jerk.
The moments before a lift are pure focus. Here, an athlete prepares for a snatch at the Delhi Games 2025, a major event that requires peak performance.
The atmosphere at the All India Inter University championship is electric. This was a challenging clean and jerk that required me to roar louder than my excuses.
To be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win. It was an honor to be recognized as a guest of honor and to celebrate the success of fellow athletes.
It was a privilege to be invited as the Guest of Honour at the Delhi State Weightlifting Championship. It's always inspiring to be around the next generation of lifters.
Serving as a referee in a weightlifting competition gives me another perspective on the sport. It reinforces the importance of perfect technique and adherence to the rules.
About My Competitive Weightlifting Journey
When you see me compete, you are seeing the biomechanics I teach in action. Whether I am refereeing at a state championship or hitting a heavy clean and jerk, every movement follows the same principles of leverage and alignment that I coach in my sessions. My competitive background is a live laboratory where I test what works, so you do not waste time on guesswork in the gym.
Competitive weightlifting is far more than just moving a barbell from floor to overhead. It requires the 'stretch-shortening cycle,' precise grip, and a calm mind under the pressure of judges and spectators. My journey, which started at the 2009 Delhi State Championship, has taught me that the biggest barrier to progress is often mental, not just physical.
I approach my coaching sessions with the same intensity I bring to my own platform performance. When I break down a snatch for my students, I am looking at it through the eyes of both an athlete and a referee. Having served as a referee, I understand exactly what judges look for—technical errors, hip extension, and locked elbows.
I do not believe in theory without practice. Whether it is the Delhi Games 2025 or an inter-university event, these experiences help me understand how to manage fatigue, optimize warm-ups, and correct form when you are under stress. If you are preparing for a competition or just want to master the Olympic lifts safely, I provide more than just a workout plan. I provide a roadmap backed by years of platform experience.
