For landscapes, I often toggle between two very different looks depending on your home's vibe. While some collectors love the smooth, hyper-realistic finish of a sunset, others prefer the raw, tactile feel of palette knife work. When we discuss your commission, I will help you decide whether a textured, layered approach or a fluid, soft-focus style fits the lighting in your specific room.
Finding Your Landscape Style
When you commission a landscape, you are not just buying a painting. You are bringing a specific feeling into your home. I work primarily in oil and acrylic on canvas, and I love adapting my technique to match the scene you have in mind.
- The Textured Look: If you want drama, I use palette knives to build physical texture. This works incredibly well for autumn forests or mountain scenes, where you want the light to catch the edges of the paint.
- The Fluid Look: For seascapes or misty mornings, I often switch to fluid techniques. This creates organic, dreamy transitions that are impossible to achieve with a standard brush.
My Process for Commissions
I believe you should see the story unfold. Whether you are in Mumbai or anywhere else in India, I keep you in the loop with 2-3 progress photos. We start with a 30-minute consultation to talk about your space, the color palette that makes you feel relaxed, and any reference photos you have.
Once we agree on the composition, I create the initial sketch and underpainting to set the mood. I use professional-grade oils or acrylics on kiln-dried pine frames, ensuring your artwork is lightfast and ready to hang the moment it arrives at your doorstep.
