Collaborative Performance Art & Contemporary Dance Projects
Movement is not just a solo journey. It is a language we speak when we come together to resist, protest, and celebrate our shared humanity.
A group photo from the Asia meets Asia Spring Camp 2024 in Tokyo. Our theme was climate change, and we came together as a 14-member team to create a powerful group performance.
A moment from a group performance, celebrating World Theater Day. For me, being an artist is a lifelong commitment to collaboration and shared expression.
A glimpse of "ECHOS OF THE EARTH," a live performance in Tokyo with the Asia meets Asia project. It was a call to unite, resist, and question our place on this planet.
A shot from the "SINKING PEOPLE" performance with Asia meets Asia in 2022. A piece exploring the idea that we are all puppets of the universe, connected in our shared fate.
A performance excerpt from a solidarity event. Using the vocabulary of Kathak and powerful words by a collaborator, we expressed hope and called for an end to violence against children.
Our first show, "STILL DRIFTING," with Asia meets Asia in 2022. This was a tribute to our late mentor, a performance about the voices of refugees around the world.
A powerful image of surrender from the "Still Drifting" performance in Tokyo. We are all cosmic dust, searching for our place in the universe.
Snippets from the "Still Drifting" production in Tokyo. A performance exploring the harsh realities of being a refugee. A reminder to dream on and never let go.
About Collaborative Works & International Projects
When I work with an ensemble, whether in Tokyo or Bangalore, the focus shifts. It is no longer about my internal monologue but about our collective breath. We use performance to dissect heavy truths, like climate change or the displacement of refugees, and it requires a different kind of trust. We move together, we resist together. If you are looking for a space to collaborate or explore performance art, let's find that rhythm.
Collaboration is my way of connecting with the universe. My work with projects like 'Asia meets Asia' brings artists together to move beyond just dancing; we are here to question, to feel, and to hold space for the difficult parts of life. Whether we are exploring physical theatre in a Tokyo studio or hosting an art gathering in Bangalore, the process remains the same.
Why Collaborative Movement?
- Shared Truths: We don't just perform steps. We use movement to tackle real-world issues. My collaborative works, such as 'Still Drifting' or 'Echoes of the Earth,' are about finding a way to vocalize feelings that words often fail to capture.
- Butoh & Improvisation: My ensemble pieces are heavily influenced by the rawness of Butoh. We lean into the uncomfortable, using visual imagery and collective improvisation to create performances that feel authentic rather than rehearsed.
- A Space for Everyone: You do not need to be a professional dancer to join these spaces. If you are an artist, an activist, or simply someone who believes that the body is a tool for change, there is room for you here.
How We Work Together
These projects are rarely about achieving perfection. They are about presence. We focus on grounding exercises, energy management, and building a vocabulary of movement that belongs to the group. We play with masks, props like wooden logs or fabric, and theatrical lighting to shift our environment.
I am always looking for new creative partners and open to working on stage productions, experimental theatre, and wellness-based movement sessions. If you have a project, a theme, or a cause you want to explore through movement, dozo yoroshiku (it is a pleasure to meet you). Let us see what we can create when we stop performing and start simply being.
