Community & Collaboration Dance Performances
Dance is a conversation. I love sharing the floor with artists who bring their own flavor, and this section is a collection of those raw, high-energy, and sometimes spontaneous moments.
A memorable day dancing with the amazing Sanya Malhotra. It was so much fun to share the floor and vibe with such a talented artist.
A jam session that was a year in the making. Dancing with my chettan Shazeb Sheikh, blending our Tamil, Mallu, and Punjabi vibes to this track.
Hitting the dance floor with the talented Dipen Rinchen. I love the energy that comes from collaborating with other dancers who share the same passion.
Another collaboration with Dipen. Even with an ankle brace on, I couldn't resist the opportunity to create and perform with such a skilled young dancer.
Twinning with my part-Tamil boy Dipen. Our styles complement each other, and it's always a great time creating these duets.
Two young men dancing to "Woman" by Rema. It's always a blast to share the floor with my favorite, Dipen Rinchen.
A quick, fun shoot with Upasana Madan. We finally got to film this piece, and her energy is always infectious.
Dancing with the cool and talented Arya. Collaborating with other instructors and artists is a great way to stay inspired and learn from each other.
A fun reel featuring Upasana Madan and my boys from the Tribe. These collaborations are all about creating good vibes and having fun on camera.
Another piece with Upasana. Our creative energies align well, making it easy to create and perform together.
About Community & Collaborations
These collaborations are rarely about just matching steps. When I jump into a jam or choreo piece with another dancer, we prioritize the vibe and the texture of the movement over technical perfection. Whether it is a quick reel with a student or a stage piece with a fellow pro, the goal is always the same, to push each other out of our comfort zones and find a shared rhythm that feels honest.
The Chemistry of Movement
When I collaborate, I look for people who are willing to sweat, mess up, and find the grit in a piece. If you watch the footage here, you will notice it is not always about synchronization; it is about reaction. My process usually starts with a 'vibe check'—we pick a track, trade a few ideas, and see where the energy leads us. Whether it is blending my urban roots with a partner's classical training or just messing around with my crew like Shazeb or Dipen, the result is always a blend of our individual styles.
Why Collaborations Matter
I have been teaching for 20 years, but I still learn something new every time I share the floor. These sessions are how I stay sharp. They keep me from boxing myself into one style. If you are looking to book a collaboration or a duet, know that I do not just show up to record. We will put in the hours to ensure the movement matches the music and, more importantly, that we are actually having a conversation on the dance floor.
Working with Me
If you want to create a duet or group piece, be prepared for some honest feedback. I do not sugarcoat things. We will focus on:
- Musicality: Understanding the track before we ever start moving.
- Connection: Focusing on eye contact and the way we move through space together.
- Storytelling: Ensuring the performance has an arc, not just a series of moves.
Let’s make something that isn't just another video, but an actual moment.
