Trade the gym lights for fresh air. Every Sunday, we move the dojo to Powai Forest Park to work on real-world situational awareness and conditioning on natural terrain.

Join us and start your journey to becoming your own bodyguard. Here, we are practicing stances and movement in the middle of nature.

This is Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, my way. We are practicing stick fighting drills surrounded by bamboo, using nature as our dojo.

Two students sparring with sticks in the forest. This kind of training sharpens your senses and situational awareness.

Training isn't confined to four walls. Here in the forest, we practice stick fighting drills, learning to use our environment and stay aware. This is what I mean by being ready for anything, anywhere.

A student practices a striking motion with a stick. The focus and connection to nature during our outdoor sessions are a form of moving meditation.

The sharpness of the sword is in the hand of the warrior. This video shows our stick fighting practice in the forest, where the tools are simple but the skill is what matters.

A weekend warrior session in Powai. We work on Kali and Krav Maga concepts, using the natural environment to practice our techniques.

About Outdoor Training: The Forest Dojo

You will not find flat rubber mats here. When you train at Powai Forest Park, you are dealing with uneven earth, roots, and rocks, which forces your feet and balance to adapt in ways a gym floor never will.

We trade the gym mirrors for trees. Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is part of our Sunday routine, but the focus is always combat. You will learn Shinkali stick and blade drills, Krav Maga, and traditional Jiu-Jitsu. The goal is to move beyond the comfort of a smooth, safe mat. Here, you learn to fight on ground that shifts under your feet. It is raw, it is practical, and it makes you rely on your reflexes rather than muscle memory. I teach this because real life does not happen on a padded floor. If you want to know how to handle yourself when the ground is slick, uneven, or obstructed, this is where you need to be. Whether you are working on your stance or learning to use environment as a tool, the forest provides the challenges you need to become a complete warrior. We focus on fundamentals that keep you safe.

I am Sensei H. I believe martial arts belong in the wild just as much as they belong in a ring. Join me on Sunday mornings to trade the gym lights for bamboo and fresh air.
