Lyra (Aerial Hoop) Classes for Beginners in Delhi
Ever wanted to dance in the air? Whether you have never touched a hoop or just want to level up your strength, we are here to help you fly. Safe, fun, and totally beginner-friendly.
An example of an aerial hoop flow we practice in class. The goal is to combine individual moves into a seamless dance sequence. This demonstrates the kind of fluid artistry you can build towards, connecting poses with grace and control.
Learning to invert is a major milestone. Here, a student practices a basic inversion to get into the hoop, a key skill we teach with careful spotting and guidance. This move is fundamental for unlocking countless other poses on the lyra.
This clip shows a student exploring different shapes and poses under the bar of the aerial hoop. Our classes encourage creative expression, allowing you to find your own unique style of movement once you are comfortable with the basics.
Our aerial dance classes are open to everyone, every Sunday. This is a great way to start your journey, as each session includes conditioning for all fitness levels to build the specific strength needed for the lyra hoop.
About Lyra (Aerial Hoop) Classes
You do not need to walk in with built-up upper body strength. Our 90-minute intro sessions start with 15 minutes of dedicated yoga-based floor conditioning to wake up those shoulders and wrists. We teach you the fundamental 'push-pull' mechanics first, so you are actually ready to climb safely, rather than just guessing your way through it.
Why Start Aerial?
I started this studio because I needed a space to disconnect from the 9-6 grind and reconnect with my body. Aerial arts, specifically Lyra (aerial hoop), is the perfect way to do that. It is not about looking perfect or having a background in gymnastics. It is about learning to trust your grip, finding your core, and eventually, putting it all into a flow.
Your First Session
When you join our Lyra classes in Chhatarpur, you get more than just time on the hoop. We keep our batches intentionally small, with just 4-6 students, so you aren't fighting for attention. Every class starts with a safety briefing on crash mat usage and ends with a 30-45 second choreographed musical flow. You aren't just learning tricks; you are learning how to dance in the air.
What to Expect
- Total Beginner Focus: We cater to all fitness levels. If you cannot do a pull-up yet, that is exactly why you should join. We build that strength together.
- Safe Environment: We use high-density crash mats and ensure every new trick involves hands-on spotting from me.
- Community: This is a place to hang out, not just a gym. We hype each other up, and we take videos at the end so you have something to look back on.
Progression
Once you master the basic mounting and the 'Man on the Moon' pose, we move into more dynamic transitions. Whether you want to focus on strength conditioning or just want to move gracefully to a song you love, we adapt the pace to you. If you are nervous, just know that most of our current regulars started exactly where you are—curious, a little hesitant, and ready to try something new.
