Grinding Movement & Athletic Training
I’m all about movement. My 'Grinding' method isn't just exercise; it is about finding your natural rhythm, fixing your spinal alignment, and actually enjoying the process.
This is 'Grinding' for a tennis forehand. We use the spin bike to find the cyclical rhythm in the movement, focusing on hip work and how you hold the racket to build a powerful, efficient stroke from the ground up.
Here's my method in a nutshell. We build raw power with exercises like 200kg quarter squats, then refine it with Pilates reformer work for squat stability. It's the combination of strength and control that makes you a better athlete.
This is how I use the Pilates reformer for swimmers. This specific drill builds the posterior chain strength and coordination needed for a powerful breaststroke pull, all done on dry land.
The Dragon Flag is a serious test of core strength. Building this level of abdominal and hip flexor control is fundamental for athletes in sports like swimming, boxing, and wrestling to transfer power effectively.
Finding the batting rhythm for cricket using my 'Grinding' method. This cyclical movement drill focuses on alignment and awareness, helping you perfect your straight drive and overall timing. The same principles apply to a golf swing.
A High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session combining sprints on the assault treadmill with heavy deadlifts. This is how we build explosive power and the endurance to sustain it.
Taking the training to the water. Here you can see the butterfly stroke in action, the result of dedicated dry-land drills and in-pool technique work. It's about connecting the gym work to real-world performance.
I believe movement should be enjoyed. It's not about being perfect. Sometimes you just have to play, explore, and have fun with it. It's all good.
About Featured
Forget standard gym routines. Whether we are using a spin bike to perfect your tennis forehand or a Pilates reformer to stabilize your swimming stroke, we are looking for rhythm. My sessions at Yoh Fitness or outdoors in Bangalore focus on real-world movement awareness so you get more power with way less strain.
Why 'Grinding'?
Movement is not about doing 50 reps until you collapse. It is about alignment and awareness. My method, 'Grinding', uses cyclical, rhythmic movements—sometimes on a bike, sometimes with bands—to help your body find its natural flow. We focus on spinal articulation and pelvic stability because if your spine moves well, the rest of your body follows.
Sport-Specific Performance
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all training. If you play a sport, we calibrate your training to that specific movement pattern:
- Cricket & Golf: We work on batting rhythm and swing torque, using the same principles I apply to 'Grinding' to ensure your mechanics are clean.
- Swimming: We use dry-land drills on the Pilates reformer to build the posterior chain strength and coordination you need for a better stroke.
- Tennis: We break down your forehand and hip work, focusing on how you generate power from the ground up.
- General Strength: For those looking to build raw power, we incorporate heavy compound lifts like deadlifts and squats, balanced by HIIT to keep your conditioning high.
Where We Train
I offer flexibility to fit your schedule and goals. We can train at Yoh Fitness in Richards Town, which gives us access to a full range of commercial gym equipment, or we can take the session outdoors across various spots in Bengaluru. It is not about fancy equipment; it is about finding the right environment for your movement goals. Nothing is perfect, yaar, but we keep it all good.
