This ballerina chime, hanging in the beautiful courtyard of the Bhopal Potter's Market, is a piece that feels like it's from a fairytale. The delicate form and embossed skirt are details I love creating.

About Ceramic Chimes & Bells
Because every chime is hand-pinched and slab-built, the sound is softer and more organic than mass-produced metal versions. These work best in covered balconies, corridors, or near a window where a light breeze can reach them, rather than in areas exposed to harsh, direct monsoon winds.
The Process Behind the Melody
When I sit down to create these chimes, it starts with a simple lump of clay. I use pinching and slab-building techniques, which means no two pieces will ever be identical. Whether it is a cheeky fox, a wise owl, or a serene angel, every character is sculpted by hand before being high-fired for durability.
Why Hand-Built Matters
I intentionally leave the textures organic. You will notice the finger marks or slight asymmetries in the clay—that is where the charm lives.
- Material: High-fired stoneware that withstands our humid Indian climate.
- Hardware: I use durable jute or hemp rope, usually paired with a piece of driftwood or ceramic bead to anchor the design.
- Usage: These are strictly for indoor use or semi-open, covered balconies. Direct, heavy exposure to the elements isn't ideal for the painted underglaze details.
FAQ for Collectors
Do you take custom orders? I take custom requests when my schedule allows. If you have a specific animal or theme in mind for a gift, send me a message.
How are they packaged for shipping? I know these look fragile. Every chime is carefully bubble-wrapped and double-boxed. I have shipped these across Mumbai and the rest of India safely many times.
Can I hang these outdoors? They love a light breeze, but please keep them in a covered area. Think of them as indoor-outdoor companions that thrive in the shade.
Curiocity by Lidwin
Hi, I'm Lidwin. I started this studio as a way to keep my mother's love for ceramics alive. Every owl, angel, or cheeky fox chime you see here was shaped by my own hands, made slowly and with a lot of love to bring a little bit of magic into your space.
