About Performing Arts Venue & Production
Why Our Koota Feels Different
I built Courtyard Koota as a proper gathering spot - not just a building with a stage, but a place where stories actually find a home. It’s all about curiosity, creativity, and working together. You’ll see artists, audiences, and organisers chatting over chai, not just rushing in and out. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic, but that’s part of the vibe.
The Space & Tech
The venue’s got an intimate, black box theatre feel. Exposed brick, close-up seating, and that sense that everyone’s part of the show. If you’re an artist, you get:
- Full lighting rig to set your mood
- Crisp sound, handled by our in-house tech
- Projector and screen for visuals or film nights
- Everything’s flexible - we’ve done shows in Kannada, English, Hindi, Bengali and more
What Happens Here
The lineup’s always changing. Some days it’s classical Bharatanatyam, some days it’s a jazz gig, or a puppet show for kids. We love hosting small, community-driven art events and big annual festivals like Makkala Masti Habba (kids’ fest). You might catch a solo theatre piece or a wild fusion band next weekend.
Koota Productions
Besides hosting, I also produce original collaborative theatre works, pulling in both local talent and pros. It’s messy, it’s fun, and honestly, the best ideas come from that mix.
If you care about intimate live performance space and want to be part of something that’s both personal and open, this is your kind of place.

My Story
Hey, Courtyard Koota here. We didn’t just put up walls and call it a day. This place grew from a wild idea - a space for stories, art, and folks just wanting to connect. Natasha kicked things off, Sridevi keeps the vibe alive, Nanu’s our in-house everything-guy, and Khushi’s the glue. Seven years in, we’re still a mixed bag, always buzzing. We shape this space, and it shapes us. Makkala Masti for kids, open doors for all. Pull up a chair, there’s room.
