Strongman Event Mastery
True strength demands more than a standard gym bench. From Atlas stones to the log press, learn how to handle real-world weight with professional technique and the right mindset.
This medley shows what it takes to be a strongman: speed, power, and seamless transitions between different tests of strength. Here you see an 80kg Axle Press, 45kg Monster Dumbbell, 75kg Sandbag lift, and a deadlift ladder, all performed with speed and precision.
A glimpse into a full strongman session. We combine different disciplines like the 100kg Atlas Stone lift, 200kg Axle Deadlift, and heavy Yoke Walks to build comprehensive, functional strength that translates to any challenge.
The Yoke is one of the most brutal tests of total body strength and stability. Here I am at Relentless Strength, starting with 180kg and working my way up to a 500kg hold. This is how we build a strong, resilient core and back.
A 460kg Yoke Hold. This exercise is not just about carrying weight; it's about withstanding immense pressure through your entire frame. It builds the kind of structural integrity that makes you unshakable.
A full strongman circuit in action. This session included my first time trying the log lift, a 50kg dumbbell lift, and the axle deadlift. I am always learning and pushing into new territory, just as I encourage my clients to do.
This medley combines multiple strongman movements: a 90kg axle bar press, a 50kg monster dumbbell, a 100kg sandbag over bar, and a deadlift ladder. Training like this builds the endurance and versatility needed to excel in competition.
The Axle Bar overhead press is a true test of shoulder and tricep strength. Hitting 95kg for 3 reps in competition shows that our training pays off on the platform. We focus on building the power to perform under pressure.
About this collection
Strongman isn't just about moving heavy iron. It is about how you handle uneven, awkward loads that would crush a standard gym-goer. When we train with logs, stones, and yokes at Balarka Fitness in Jayanagar, we break down complex movements like the 'clean and dip' or 'lap and load' into manageable parts. You aren't just building muscle; you are learning how to stabilize your body under pressure, ensuring that your foundation is as solid as the weight you are moving.
Why Strongman Training Matters
Unlike traditional gym training, Strongman focuses on functional, real-world power. Whether you are aiming for a competition or just want to build a level of structural integrity that standard gym machines cannot provide, this is for you. We move beyond the barbell to train with:
- Atlas Stones: Building explosive hip power and a crushing grip.
- Log Press: Developing overhead pressing strength with an unstable, heavy implement.
- Yoke Walks: Training your spine and core to remain rock-solid under massive, shifting loads.
- Axle Bars: Forging iron-clad forearms and grip stability.
My Approach to Coaching
I treat every rep as a practice in discipline. At Balarka Fitness, we don't just guess; we use specific technical instruction. I provide active spotting, meaning I am right there with you to ensure your form is perfect during rack-less lifts and heavy carries. If you are training online, I offer video-based form analysis to ensure your technique is safe and effective regardless of your facility.
For Beginners and Pros
Discipline is the only prerequisite. You don't need to be a champion to start, but you do need to have a never-give-up attitude. I have helped everyone from complete beginners to competitive athletes get their first deadlift PR or master the log press. If you have the hunger to get better, I will provide the technical map to get you there.
Let’s stop making excuses and start building real power. Training with us is about more than aesthetics; it is about honoring the strength you are capable of achieving.
