My Training Philosophy: Real Work, No Shortcuts
For me, training is svadharma, my duty. I don't believe in shortcuts or quick fixes. Whether we're lifting heavy or conditioning, the focus is always on technique, grit, and showing up every single day.
I often hear people say they can't work out alone. But discipline is about doing it anyway. Training alone in my early years built my confidence and taught me that I am responsible for my own progress.
What you do during your rest periods matters. Scrolling on your phone can turn a 30-second break into 3 minutes. Stay focused on the task at hand. Little things make a big difference.
A look back at my 2023. It was a year of ups and downs, from moving to Dubai and back, to competing in various events, and finally opening my own training center. I'm taking all the wisdom gained into the new year.
What to do when things go wrong? It's okay. Life isn't a fairy tale. Take your time, make a plan, execute it, and learn from the experience. Come back stronger.
This is my competition plan for 2025. I'm aiming for events that are a pure blend of strength, power, and endurance. If you're aiming for these too, let's prepare together.
A reflection on the month of October. I've learned that change is natural and that the best answers to my questions come from within. Swayam mein jhankiye, aur swayam hi uttar paiye.
The entrance to Adapt Fitness Club at night. This place represents the culmination of a year of hard work and change.
After a grueling CrossFit Open workout. As the monks told me, it's all about finding energy and balance. This is me finding my balance after pushing my limits.
Cooling down after a tough session. The physical effort is a way to connect with your energy and find a sense of balance.
Holding my scorecard after a CrossFit Open workout. The results are a reflection of the work put in. Now, it's time to prepare for the next season.
About My Training Philosophy
I see a lot of people turn a 30-second break into 3 minutes just by scrolling on their phones. It kills the momentum and the focus your nervous system needs to actually adapt to the stimulus. In my squad, we keep the phone away during sets. You’re here to train, not to browse, so we focus on breathing and recovery. If you’re ready to actually train instead of just going through the motions, we’ll get along just fine.
My gym, Adapt Fitness Club in Gurugram, isn’t about fancy machines or air conditioning. It’s about the work. When I started, I trained alone on a terrace for years. That taught me the most important lesson: you don't need a crowd to get a result, you need discipline.
The "Show Up" Mindset
People often ask me about motivation. But motivation is fleeting. Discipline is what gets you through the door on days you don't feel like it. Whether you're training for the Hyrox race, a marathon, or just trying to get stronger, the principle is the same. My programming focuses on periodized cycles—strength, hypertrophy, and conditioning—to ensure you're peaking for your event, not just burning out.
Why Technique Matters
I’ve seen too many people rush through Olympic lifts or CrossFit movements, chasing numbers without understanding the mechanics. That’s a shortcut to injury. In my sessions, we drill the movement patterns first. We focus on cues. We break down the sled push or the snatch until it's efficient. Whether you’re an athlete training for the Yoddha Race or someone joining my CrossFit group class, my goal is to make you move better, not just faster.
My Approach to Coaching
Whether you're training with me in person at the facility in Sector 106 or following my online programming, you get the same feedback loop. We track your 1RM, your 5k times, and your transitions. If you're struggling, we fix the technique. If you're plateauing, we adjust the load. I don't give you a generic PDF and disappear. We work, we execute, and we repeat. That's the grind.
