About this collection
Everything you see in these images is hand-sculpted. I do not use factory molds. When you order a piece, whether it is a specific street-style chaat or a full thali, I work to capture the textures, like the steam or the oil glisten, that make that food special to you. Because these are made from air-dry clay and finished with varnish, they are durable enough to keep as magnets or keychains for years.
When I started making these miniatures twenty years ago, I only wanted to capture the feeling of a home-cooked meal. Today, that process involves a lot of patience. I work with high-grade air-dry clay to build each component, from the rice grains in a biryani to the crust on a pizza.
My Crafting Process
I do not believe in mass production. Each order is a bespoke project where I aim to recreate the 'story' of the food. If you are ordering a miniature thali, I consider the specific dishes you want included, the layout on the banana leaf, and the color tones to ensure it looks as authentic as possible.
Customization Options
- Fridge Magnets: These are perfect for kitchen decor or as small gifts. They are designed to be sturdy and eye-catching.
- Keychains: If you want to carry your favorite food memory with you, I can create durable, lightweight charms.
- Display Platters: For those who want a showpiece, my grand thalis feature 10 to 18 individual items, capturing a full meal experience in a palm-sized display.
Everything is sealed with a protective varnish to make it water-resistant and to preserve the colors. If you have a specific food memory, like a childhood snack or a traditional festive meal, reach out. I would love to hear the story behind the dish and see if we can create a little piece of art together.
