Handcrafted Ceramic Art and Tableware
Every piece starts with a lump of clay and a quiet moment in my Prabhadevi studio. I hand-shape, carve, and paint stoneware to create functional art for your daily rituals.
This hand-thrown ceramic plate, featuring a hand-painted fish motif, captures the essence of my work. It is designed to be a versatile piece of art, perfect for adorning your walls or bringing a touch of elegance to your dining table.
I shape and paint each ceramic vase by hand, making every piece one-of-a-kind. This vase, with its intricate red and black lotus design, brings a timeless warmth and artistry to any space, whether holding fresh flowers or standing alone.
I love adding a playful twist to everyday items. These quirky, handmade bowls feature sculpted kiwi and orange slice handles, bringing a bit of fun and unique character to your kitchen and dining table.
Welcome to my studio. Here is a glimpse into my process, where I mindfully shape each piece of clay on the wheel. This is the heart of Clay Explore, where every creation begins its journey.
My ceramic wall sculptures are a dialogue between earth and imagination. This hand-painted fish piece is designed to transform your wall into a living story, adding texture, depth, and a touch of serene beauty to your home.
My handmade mugs are crafted for the simple joy of daily rituals. This stack of two-toned terracotta mugs showcases a minimalist design, combining earthy textures with a smooth glaze for a comfortable and beautiful sipping experience.
A beautiful platter is an invitation to share and connect. Watch as I set this hand-glazed chip-and-dip platter, a versatile piece designed for entertaining and making everyday moments feel special.
This decorative ceramic tile showcases the sgraffito technique, where I meticulously scratch through a layer of color to reveal the clay beneath. It's a piece of art that can be displayed on an easel or used as a unique tabletop accent.
About Featured
You might spot a slight variation in the rim or a unique brushstroke on my pieces. I embrace these small quirks because they prove every bowl and vase was shaped by hand, not a machine, making them feel like something you can actually live with every day.
My work at Clay Explore is an extension of my belief in slow living. When I am at the wheel in my Prabhadevi studio, I focus on the connection between the clay and the person who will eventually use it. Whether I am throwing a sturdy mug for your morning coffee or carving intricate designs into a wall platter using the sgraffito technique, the goal is always to bring a tactile, earthy experience into your home.
I work primarily with stoneware and porcelain, exploring forms that feel organic and comfortable. You will find that my glazes range from matte, earthy tones to glossy finishes, always food-safe and lead-free. My design inspiration comes from nature, including lotuses, ferns, and birds, which I paint directly onto the clay using brushes rather than transfers. This means no two pieces are identical.
Beyond functional tableware like plates, bowls, and tumblers, I also create statement decor. This includes ceramic wall art and sculptural vases meant to hold space in your home. If you are looking for something specific, such as a custom set for a cafe or a unique gift hamper, I enjoy collaborating on pieces that tell a story. My studio is open to those who want to learn as well, as I conduct workshops on wheel-throwing and hand-building for beginners.
Clay Explore
I’m Yashashri, and I run Clay Explore here in Prabhadevi. I’m happiest when my hands are covered in clay, turning raw stoneware into things you’ll actually want to reach for, whether it’s a morning coffee mug or a plate for your wall.
