About Mugs, Cups & Tumblers: For Your Daily Ritual
Every piece here is shaped by hand using high-fired stoneware, designed not just for looks but for the way it feels in your palm. Whether it is the weight of a chunky chili-handle mug or the stackable simplicity of my cobalt-blue tumblers, I design these to make your coffee or tea ritual a little more grounding.
I believe that how you start your day sets the tone for everything that follows. That is why I hand-throw each mug and tumbler in my Prabhadevi studio, focusing on ergonomics as much as aesthetics. You will find that my mugs vary in weight and texture, which is part of the charm of working with real clay.
For those who appreciate detail, I use techniques like sgraffito to carve patterns directly into the clay, while my sculptural designs like the chili or lemon-slice handles are all pulled by hand, not molded. My cobalt blue and terracotta range is particularly popular for the contrast between the raw, earthy clay base and the vibrant, food-safe glaze.
Practicality matters for daily use. My stoneware is fired to high temperatures, making them sturdy and microwave-safe, though I always recommend hand-washing to preserve the hand-painted details. If you are choosing a piece, consider the grip. Some are designed for a hearty morning latte, while others, like my 100ml espresso cups, are just right for a quick cutting chai. If you see a style you love but it is out of stock, reach out to me. I often have new batches drying on the rack.
