Hand-painted Ceramic Vases, Jugs and Planters

Every piece begins as a lump of stoneware or porcelain clay on my wheel in Prabhadevi. I shape these forms to have character, moving away from perfectly uniform, factory-made silhouettes. When you hold one of my jugs or vases, you will notice the weight and texture, which gives them a substantial, grounded feel in your home.

Why Hand-Painted Matters

I don't use decals or transfer prints. Every leaf, fish, and lotus you see is applied with a fine brush. This means the design interacts with the curve of the ceramic, adapting to the form of the vessel. If you see a fern motif on a pitcher, it was placed there to complement that specific jug's shape.

Practical Art for Your Home

These are not just for display. My stoneware clay is high-fired, making these pieces robust enough for daily use.

• Vases: Perfect for fresh-cut flowers or dried arrangements. Because of their weight, they stay stable even with taller stems.
• Jugs: These are glazed with food-safe materials, so they are perfectly functional as water pitchers or utensil holders in your kitchen.
• Planters: I create these with the understanding that they need to house living things, and I ensure they are sturdy enough for the local Mumbai climate.

Caring for Your Ceramics

While the firing process makes them durable, they are handmade. I recommend hand-washing them gently. This preserves the vibrancy of the underglazes and ensures the piece lasts for years.
