Batting Fundamentals: Expert Technique Coaching
A strong inning starts with a stable stance, correct grip, and perfect head position. I help you build your batting foundation from the ground up so you can play with balance, power, and confidence.
This is very important information for every young batsman. I explain the correct stance, ensuring knees are aligned with the toes, the head is forward, and the backlift is initiated correctly.
Whether you are playing a drive or defending, alignment is the most important point. I demonstrate how your toes, knees, elbow, and shoulder must all be in one line, pointing in the direction of the shot.
Shadow practice is excellent for visualization and muscle memory. This cone drill helps a batsman perfect his footwork, length judgment, and body position without the pressure of a live ball.
This player started cricket just a month ago and is already working on his front-foot defense. Building a solid defensive technique is the first step towards becoming a reliable batsman.
These are some of our basic drills for head stability and front-foot weight transfer. Simple exercises like the 'gloves on head' walk and cone drills for footwork make a huge difference.
Hard work never stops. This player is practicing his front-foot and back-foot defense with shadow drills, getting better day by day. I will never give up on my players.
The journey of cricket is a *tapasya*. Here, I am mentoring a player who started just two months ago, teaching him to watch the ball at impact. This focus is what makes a great player.
About Batting Fundamentals: Building a Strong Foundation
Most young batsmen struggle because they look away at the exact moment of impact. I train you to lock your eyes on the ball until it hits your bat, ensuring your toes, knees, and head are perfectly aligned. We don't just throw balls at you in the nets; we use specific shadow practice, cone drills, and stance correction to build muscle memory before you ever face a live delivery. It's about getting the foundation right, so you can control the game.
Your batting foundation is a tapasya—a continuous, disciplined practice. Beginners often rush to play big shots, but without a stable base, you will always be inconsistent. My coaching focuses on the technical specifications of your batting game:
- Stance and Alignment: Your knees and toes must align with your shoulder width. If your stance is faulty, your balance will fail, especially against pace or swing. We fix your setup so you are comfortable and ready for any ball.
- Head Position: This is non-negotiable. If your head isn't stable, your weight transfer will be late. I use 'gloves-on-head' drills to teach you to keep your head steady throughout the shot.
- Impact Awareness: Using voiceover breakdown and video analysis, I show you exactly where you lose focus. You need to watch the ball at the moment of impact. If you master this, you are already ahead of 90% of other players.
- Shadow Practice: Before we move to the nets or bowling machines, we spend time on shadow practice. It is the only way to build muscle memory without the anxiety of a live delivery.
Whether you are a beginner picking up a bat for the first time or an experienced player looking to correct a recurring flaw in your front-foot defense, we break it down step-by-step. At Brigade Cricket Academy, we are here to rebuild your technique from the ground up.
