Batting is not just about hitting; it is about balance, angles, and control. Learn how to build a rock-solid foundation, from your stance to the perfect cover drive, without relying on muscle shortcuts.

Many players underestimate the top hand for hitting sixes. I teach how a full arm extension, dominated by the top hand, provides control and timing. This technique, combined with proper weight transfer, allows you to hit long sixes straight down the ground and over the covers with precision, not just brute force.

Cricket is a game of angles. Here, I am explaining to a batsman that he cannot play every ball straight. You have to read the angle of the delivery. An out-swinging ball must be played towards mid-off, not straight. Understanding this is key to building a solid defensive and offensive game.

This video shows the clear improvement in a player's technique after our personal sessions. Notice the better balance, shot selection, and confidence. This is the result of focusing on fundamentals and making incremental adjustments.

This graphic breaks down the key components of power hitting. It's a combination of a balanced stance, a smooth backlift and downswing, and efficient power transfer from the core.

Timing will always beat muscle power. This visual emphasizes the importance of generating bat speed through proper technique and ensuring a full follow-through to maximize the power of your shots.

Mastering long-range hitting requires fine control. Here, we focus on the role of wrist work, bottom-hand control for power, and maintaining a stable stance to build a strong base for every shot.

When you are out of touch, you get hammered. This clip shows me getting back into the grind. Even as a coach, I believe in staying sharp and leading by example.

Facing short-pitched bowling requires courage and technique. Here, a player is grinding it out in the nets, working on handling bouncers. Every session like this builds both skill and mental fortitude.

The square cut is a classic shot against a short and wide delivery. This video shows two of our state-level players, Chirag Dhaka and Shaurya Raghav, in a competitive net session, executing the shot with precision.

Here, we see two of the most classic shots in cricket. The elegant cover drive and the powerful pull shot. Mastering these fundamental strokes is a key part of our training curriculum.

About The Art of Batting

When you try to force power, you lose your balance. I focus heavily on top-hand extension, especially for straight shots and cover drives. It is not about how hard you hit; it is about how cleanly you strike the ball using the full face of the bat. Once you learn to dominate with your top hand, your control over the shot improves instantly.

Cricket batting techniques have become a bit of a lost art with the focus shifting heavily toward power hitting and IPL-style aggression. At Croire Cricket Club in Baliawas, Gurugram, we go back to basics. Whether you are working on your stance or trying to master the pull shot, my approach is to fix the fundamentals first. We use video analysis with Silicon Coach software to break down every movement, from your initial trigger to your follow-through.

Why Technique Beats Power

Many young players struggle because they rely on their bottom hand too much, which often leads to cross-batted shots and a lack of control. By strengthening your top hand and focusing on weight transfer, you can generate power naturally. This is what we practice during our daily net sessions. We don't believe in copy-paste drills. We analyze the angle of the ball and teach you when to play straight and when to look for gaps.

Our Training Focus

  • Stance & Balance: A stable base is non-negotiable for a consistent cover drive.
  • Angle Judgment: Understanding the line of the ball so you can leave it or play it with confidence.
  • Handling Pressure: We simulate match conditions so you learn to build an innings rather than just trying to hit every ball for six.
  • Technical Drills: From the short barrier pickup to handling short-pitched bowling, every session is designed to make you a more thinking cricketer.

Whether you are joining our residential program or coming for daily coaching, the goal remains the same: pure skill development. If you are ready to put in the work and stop looking for shortcuts, we have the environment where you can grow.
