About Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) & Submission Grappling
My Approach
I see Jiu Jitsu as a game, not a list of moves to memorize. My coaching is all about building actual skills you can use when things get messy, not just drilling stuff you forget under pressure. I want you to become a problem solver, using creativity and experience instead of just copying me.
How We Train
- We learn by playing, treating every session like a challenge to figure out, not a routine to repeat.
- Concepts like connection and off-balancing matter more than just techniques. Once that clicks, you’ll see how to use it everywhere.
- Most of the time, you’re in live rolling practice, not sitting around. You learn by doing, and every round is different.
What You’ll Get
- Training in both Gi and No-Gi submission techniques, so you get the full picture.
- Real-world BJJ self-defense concepts, not just sport stuff. I’ll help you use frames, alignment, and distance even against bigger folks.
- If you want to compete, our team’s got a solid record, with dedicated camps to make sure you peak at the right time.
Who Should Join
- Total newbies who want something practical
- Grapplers keen on deeper concepts
- Competitors looking for a serious, competition grappling team
- Anyone who wants to get fit or learn to handle themselves

My Story
We’re not your typical fight gym. Our journey’s full of ups, downs, and that 7-year gap before jumping back in at ADCC Thailand—came home with bronze, not gold, but a head full of lessons. Getting my brown belt meant a 2.5 hour exam, mentors flying in from Idaho, and real trust. We’ve built a tribe here—no egos, just hard work and loyalty. And honestly, without my team, I’m nothing. Shoutout to Amen and everyone at Reign MMA—you’re my people.
