We approach martial arts as a game of live problem-solving, not a list of techniques to memorize. Explore our unique training philosophy and the results of our competition team.

We focus on skills, not just moves. Here is an example of how we use Jiu Jitsu principles to create situations. Instead of just showing a technique, I focus on destabilizing an opponent to create openings for sweeps and submissions. This problem solving approach is at the core of how you will learn to grapple effectively.

I am incredibly proud of the grit my team shows at every tournament. Here I am with two of my students after they each won a silver medal at the prestigious ADCC Asian Open in Thailand. This is a testament to our dedicated training camps and our focus on peaking at the right time for competition.

This is what our community looks like. A large group photo from our recent Reign In-house tournament, filled with competitors, teammates, and supporters. We are building a culture of hard work and camaraderie, where everyone from first timers to veterans pushes each other to be their best.

We believe in building skills, not just drilling techniques until they become robotic. This is a look inside our academy, where we value live, playful training that builds real, adaptable grappling skills. We have a serious goal, but we have fun getting there.

This is why we train. One of my students sent me this message after using what he learned in a real life self defense situation to safely control a thief. This is a powerful reminder that the skills we build on the mat have practical, real world applications that can help protect you and others.

Here is a highlight from one of my students competing in a Gi tournament. You can see him applying our system, controlling his opponent, and working methodically towards the submission. Whether you train in the Gi or No-Gi, our core concepts of control and problem solving apply.

This was a significant moment in my own journey. Receiving my brown belt from my professor, Dominick, who traveled from the USA to conduct a grueling 2.5 hour practical exam. Finding a mentor who understands and supports my ecological approach to training has been invaluable, and it’s a level of dedication I bring to my own students.

Are you getting smashed by bigger opponents? I can help you solve that problem. In this video, I break down key concepts like using frames, maintaining alignment, and managing distance to handle larger people effectively, without relying on strength. This is a core part of our self defense curriculum.

About Featured

We do not believe in mindless drilling or repetitive motion. Every session here is designed as a live, constraint-led game, meaning you will learn to navigate resistance from day one, rather than practicing movements that often fall apart when someone actually fights back.

Training as a Living System

Traditional gyms rely on static drills where you repeat a move until you can do it in a vacuum. We reverse that. By putting you in live scenarios with specific constraints—like limiting your movement, changing the starting position, or forcing you to navigate uncomfortable angles—you learn to discover solutions yourself. This is what we call the Ecological Approach. It forces your brain to adapt to the opponent's pressure rather than waiting for them to move exactly how you practiced in class.

Competition and Real-World Application

This methodology translates directly to the mat, whether in a tournament or a self-defense situation. You can see the results in our competition team's performance at events like the ADCC Asian Open. Our students aren't just memorizing sequences; they are learning to think under duress. When a student uses their training to safely control a situation outside the gym, it reinforces that these skills are functional, not just academic.

The Environment

We train in a non-AC facility not to make things difficult for the sake of it, but to build mental toughness and acclimatize you to the reality of physical exertion. We are building more than a gym; we are building a culture. There is no ego here, only hard work and loyalty. If you are ready to sweat and push your limits, you will fit right in.

I am Vighnesh Nathan. I run this gym because I wanted a space that values intelligence over ego, where we use an ecological approach to help you actually solve problems on the mat. You will sweat, you will work hard, and you will become part of a team that is genuinely invested in your progress.
