A selection of projects that define our practice. From forest-integrated lodges to urban residences, these spaces showcase the potential of ecological design when rooted in the land.

An aerial view of the Waghoba Ecolodge in Tadoba, Maharashtra, as dusk settles over the landscape. We designed this resort to blend seamlessly with the restored deciduous forest, creating a man-made lake that now enhances local biodiversity and offers tranquil views.

The renovated and extended Ananda residence in Hyderabad, showcasing a facade of striated compressed earth blocks. This design choice was not just for aesthetics but also for thermal comfort, creating a self-shading pattern that reduces heat gain.

Students find a space for creative expression on the mosaic-tiled stage at Buddhi School in Bengaluru. We design learning environments to be joyful and interactive, using warm, natural materials like earth blocks to create inviting spaces for children.

The facade of the Eklavya campus in Bhopal, reflected in the rainwater collected on site. This wall, made of reclaimed railway windows, is now draped in native creepers, creating a living skin that provides nesting spaces for birds and connects the building to the landscape.

The warm and inviting living area of the Sans Souci Residence in Bengaluru, our experimental lab for ecological design. This space features exposed earth block walls, a mezzanine for spatial efficiency, and is lit naturally by skylights, eliminating the need for artificial cooling.

A traditional peacock mural adorns a mud wall in a vernacular homestay in Madhya Pradesh. We collaborated with local women artisans to bring their stories and folk art to life, using materials like mud, rope, and cow dung that are rooted in the region's culture.

About Featured

We believe buildings should act as living, breathing extensions of their landscape. For instance, at the Waghoba Ecolodge, we did not just build cottages; we restored the surrounding forest and created a man-made lake to manage wastewater and support local biodiversity. This is the level of integration we bring to every project, turning environmental challenges into core design features that serve both people and the planet.

Architecture as a Living Conversation

These featured projects represent our core principles in practice. We do not chase architectural trends; instead, we look at what a site needs to function harmoniously. Whether it is a private residence in Bengaluru or a community office in Bhopal, every design choice—from material selection to window orientation—is driven by ecological logic.

Why We Prioritize These Techniques

  • Passive Cooling: In our Sans Souci residence, we used mezzanine levels and staggered window placement to eliminate the need for artificial cooling, keeping temperatures comfortable naturally.
  • Material Circularity: The facade at the Eklavya campus in Bhopal uses reclaimed railway windows. These were salvaged from scrap, given a new purpose, and now provide nesting spaces for birds, proving that waste is merely a resource in the wrong place.
  • Water Security: At our ASA office project, we addressed a water-logged site by designing a stepped well. This transformed a structural challenge into a community gathering space that actively replenishes the local aquifer.
  • Participatory Craft: Many of our projects, such as the vernacular homestays in Madhya Pradesh, are built in collaboration with local artisans. This ensures that traditional skills like mud plastering or mural making are preserved while creating modern, functional spaces.

Designing for the Lifecycle

We approach every build with the understanding that buildings have a lifecycle. By using compressed earth blocks (CSEB) and rammed earth, we ensure that our structures are durable while remaining gentle on the environment. We design for disassembly, ensuring that if a building is ever deconstructed, the materials can return to the earth or be reused elsewhere, effectively closing the loop on construction waste.

We are a collective dedicated to proving that architecture can be restorative. By working directly with the land and local communities, we create spaces that prioritize passive cooling, circularity, and the honest use of materials like mud and stone.
