Architecture is a conversation with the land. We work directly on-site, using local materials and community skills to create homes that breathe and endure.

About Building with Earth & Community: Our Hands-On Process

We begin every project by analyzing the soil on your specific site to determine if we can manufacture blocks right there, rather than importing materials. This hands-on, on-site production is the foundation of our ecological approach, ensuring your building respects the local landscape from the very first day of work.

Our construction process is rooted in the belief that design should be a dialogue. When we talk about working with mud, stone, or adobe, we are not just talking about materials. We are talking about involving local artisans who possess the traditional knowledge to handle these materials with grace.

Why the Process Matters

  • Soil Analysis: We test excavation soil to create Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks (CSEB). This reduces transportation costs and carbon footprints significantly.
  • Passive Cooling: Instead of relying on mechanical air conditioning, we design jaali walls and optimize building orientation to maintain temperatures between 22C and 28C through natural ventilation.
  • Participatory Design: We don't build in isolation. Whether it is a home in Bengaluru or a homestay in a rural area, we work alongside community members to ensure the final structure serves its environment well.

From Waste to Structure

We look for 'perceived waste'—discarded railway wood, demolition debris, or old windows—and give them a new purpose in your building. At projects like the Gamaya villas in Vikarabad, you can see how we treat the site as a living system. We preserve existing trees, manage greywater through constructed wetlands (reed beds), and ensure that every structural choice, like brick-vaulted roofs or arch foundations, reduces the need for concrete. Our drawings are simply the start of a collaboration that continues until the structure settles into its surroundings.

We are a collective that gets our hands dirty because we believe building is a conversation between the land and the people. We do not just design structures; we work alongside masons and community members to ensure every brick, every arch, and every water system has a clear purpose.
