Sustainable Architecture and Contextual Design Portfolio
We build spaces that respond to their environment. From homes crafted with reclaimed site debris to community-focused rural schools, here is a look at our core architectural philosophy.
This view from the Debris Block House in Bangalore captures our approach to seamless indoor-outdoor living. The ground floor opens completely to the landscape, while skylights and a multi-level staircase draw natural light deep into the home.
It gives us immense joy to see the Talaricheruvu Rural School, a project close to our hearts, filled with the energy of children. This video captures the playful bamboo canopy, light-filled classrooms, and the vibrant community spaces we designed on a tight budget using local materials.
We call these the glowing portals of the Lakehouse in Hyderabad. As dusk settles, the wood-clad volumes frame the landscape, creating a dramatic and serene connection between the home and the distant city lights over the water.
This is a vision for a mid-rise coastal residence in Mumbai. The design is a carved volume with integrated planters and framed openings, creating a dialogue with the sea while modulating privacy, light, and ventilation for urban living.
We are obsessive about how materials come together. This detail from our Brick House in Bangalore shows the texture and precision of hand-moulded, rough bricks, creating a dynamic, patterned facade that plays with light and shadow.
We designed this outdoor space to be a place for gathering and unwinding. Nestled under the shade of a large tamarind tree, the al fresco dining area and swing create a tranquil garden retreat for family and friends.
This is the story behind our Debris Block House. We developed a unique, sustainable building material by creating mud blocks from the debris of the original structure on the site, revealing a hidden texture when cut open.
About this collection
When we begin a project, we do not just produce blueprints. We build physical models and test full-scale wall mock-ups on-site to understand how light interacts with the volume. This process allows us to see exactly how materials like reclaimed brick, laterite, or bamboo will feel once built. It is this focus on the tactile construction process that ensures the final structure matches the vision we developed together.
Our Approach to Materiality
We believe a building should tell a story through its fabric. Whether we are using hand-moulded bricks for a residence in Bangalore or laterite stone for a hill station home, we select materials for their local availability and inherent texture. For our Debris Block House, we took the physical waste from the old structure on the plot and turned it into the primary building blocks for the new home. This strategy reduces environmental impact and creates a unique aesthetic that cannot be replicated.
Designing for Context
Architecture should never be a one-size-fits-all solution. Our coastal projects in Mumbai require different planning strategies than our inland offices in Hyderabad. We analyze sun paths, wind directions, and existing vegetation before we draw a single line. This allows us to integrate features like bamboo canopies for shade or jaali screens for natural ventilation.
Collaborative Process
Design is not a solo act. We involve clients, contractors, and local craftspeople from the first sketch. By conducting weekly or bi-weekly site visits, we monitor finish precision and alignment, ensuring that the design intent is maintained from the foundation to the final snagging checks. Our goal is to create spaces that feel comfortable, functional, and deeply tied to their land.
CollectiveProject
We are an architecture and interior design studio based in Bangalore that obsesses over materials and the stories they tell. We love finding beauty in unexpected places, whether it is using mud blocks from site debris or designing airy bamboo canopies. Our team works closely with you and local craftspeople to ensure every space feels personal and purposeful.
