Sustainable Architecture Designed for Mindful Living
We believe a home should feel honest, rooted, and alive. This collection captures our journey of building spaces that connect deeply with nature, using materials that age gracefully and tell a story of their own.
This is the heart of a home we designed, where natural light, earthy materials, and open spaces come together. We used exposed brick and Kota stone flooring to create a warm, honest feel, while the floating wooden staircase and traditional swing add a sense of lightness and play.
For this urban home in Bangalore, we contrasted a clean white facade with the raw texture of rat-trap bond brickwork. The circular window and spiral staircase are not just design elements; they are invitations to explore the different levels and how light moves through the space.
We believe in finding beauty in the details. This is a close-up of a custom jaali wall, where we used angled mud blocks and glass inserts to create a beautiful pattern that plays with light and privacy, casting unique shadows throughout the day.
Light is one of our most important materials. Here, a custom-designed geometric skylight casts dramatic patterns across an exposed brick wall, transforming the space and creating a living artwork that changes with the sun.
This is part of a community center we designed to merge with its natural surroundings. We used boulders found on-site for the walls and created a natural lily pond as a tranquil focal point, blurring the line between the building and the landscape.
A sustainable home can also be vibrant and full of personality. This living room shows how we combine earthy materials like exposed brick with colorful, eclectic furniture and textiles to create a space that is both eco-friendly and deeply personal to its owners.
Our process is hands-on and rooted in the land. This video shows our team carefully turning massive boulders sourced directly from the site into functional and beautiful parts of a new structure, embodying our philosophy of using what nature provides.
About this collection
Our design process begins with a climatic analysis of your site, not just an aesthetic plan. We orient your home to maximize passive ventilation and natural light, reducing your dependence on air conditioning and artificial lighting. Whether you are building in a dense Bengaluru neighbourhood or an open farmhouse plot, we tailor the material palette—be it mud blocks, exposed brick, or site-sourced stone—to handle the specific local weather and soil conditions.
Our approach to sustainable architecture is rooted in the belief that a home should have nothing to hide. We move away from plaster-and-paint finishes, opting instead for materials that gain character with time—exposed mud blocks, rat-trap bond brickwork, and natural stone.
Why our process is different
We are not just architects; we are partners in your building journey. We spend time on-site understanding the soil, wind patterns, and sun trajectory before a single brick is laid. This allows us to design spaces that stay cool naturally and breathe, even in the heat of Bengaluru.
What you can expect:
- Passive Cooling: By utilizing courtyards, skylights, and jaali walls, we create airflow that eliminates the need for constant AC usage.
- Resourceful Building: We utilize site-excavated soil for mud blocks and boulders for rubble walls, minimizing transport costs and the carbon footprint of your build.
- Authentic Craftsmanship: We work closely with local artisans to execute detailed brickwork and oxide flooring, ensuring the human touch is visible in every corner.
- Collaborative Design: We see the building process as a shared adventure. We talk, we debate, and we decide together, ensuring the home truly reflects your story.
