Yoga as a Way of Life: Mindful Daily Practice
Yoga is more than an hour on the mat. It is a commitment to how you breathe, move, and treat those around you. These moments reflect my daily Abhyas, a blend of discipline, gratitude, and stillness that keeps me connected to the present.
Light, shadow, color, and music. For me, playing the sitar is another form of meditation, a way to connect with the soul through sound.
Reaching for the sun, feeling the universal energy. The year is coming to an end, a beautiful time for reflection and gratitude.
Sometimes, the best thing to do is to find silence and rest. Withdrawing from the world for a while, like a tortoise in its shell, allows for deep rejuvenation.
A moment of complete relaxation in nature. It's important to rest so that our mind and body can rejuvenate, ready for the next adventure.
Spirituality for me is treating every living being with the same care and love. It is the journey of my soul, practiced here with a gentle backbend.
By working on ourselves, we can transform darkness into light. This mudra represents the integration of different energies within us.
The Shiva Mudra, a hand gesture that integrates the masculine and feminine energies of Shiva and Shakti within us.
Yoga is the addition of the individual self with the universal self. A joyful jump, feeling light and connected to everything around me.
Yoga Abhyasa, or dedicated practice, helps bring discipline and clarity to life. This mudra represents the gathering of our inner strength.
I choose to be grateful for everything I have. A happy, candid moment, embracing the simple joy of being alive and present.
About Yoga as a Way of Life
You do not need hours to start living your yoga. I focus on helping you build an Abhyas (dedicated practice) that fits your real life, whether that is finding five minutes for Pranayama during a busy workday or using specific mudras to ground your energy. If you are struggling with consistency, we will work on building a routine that moves you from simply doing poses to feeling the benefits in your daily life.
Yoga is not just about the flexibility you see on the mat. It is a commitment to how you breathe, how you rest, and how you treat others. My approach is to take the lessons from our sessions and help you integrate them into your environment. Whether you are a beginner or looking to deepen your existing practice, the focus is always on alignment and sustainable growth.
When you practice with me, we move beyond basic stretching. We explore the Shiva Mudra to balance energy, incorporate Surya Namaskar for strength, and learn to find stillness like a tortoise retreats into its shell. This is about creating a mental space where you can recharge.
I offer weekday classes both at my Sahakarnagar studio and online, designed to accommodate your busy schedule. These sessions are structured to help you build discipline, focusing on:
- Correct posture and injury prevention.
- Integrating breathwork (Pranayama) for mental clarity.
- Finding moments of gratitude and mindfulness throughout your day.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, remember what my teacher told me: slow down before you try to overtake. Join me, and let us work on your Abhyas together, one breath at a time.
