My Personal Journey through Dance and Emotion
Dance is how I connect with myself, nature, and the divine. Welcome to my world where every movement tells a story of joy and tradition.
A portrait in my full Bharatnatyam attire, with a sketch of another performance in the background. For me, Krishna and dance are inseparable, creating a world full of life and happiness.
Just me, full of life and emotions. Life has its ups and downs, but I believe in fighting back with a smile. This is the positive energy that I bring to every dance session.
About My Dance Journey
When I perform, I do not just follow steps. I focus on Abhinaya, which is the art of expression. Whether we are in a studio or performing outdoors, I help you find the Navras (nine emotions) in your own movement so your dance feels real and authentic, rather than just rehearsed.
For me, dance is truly inseparable from life. You will often find me dancing wherever the music takes me, from the snow-covered paths of Gulmarg to the quiet corners of a Mumbai park. My approach to teaching is built on this same principle of freedom. I believe that dance is for everyone, regardless of their background or physical ability.
My practice centers on a few core pillars:
Expression and Abhinaya
We dive deep into the nine emotions, or Navras. This is not just about moving your body, but about using your eyes, neck, and hands to tell a story. Whether you are learning a classical piece or a Bollywood routine, we work on these micro-movements to ensure your performance touches the audience.
Accessible Dance for Everyone
I developed my 'sitting choreography' specifically for those who may have limited mobility or who want to focus entirely on storytelling through hand gestures (hastas) and facial expressions. It is a beautiful, intimate way to experience the art form without the pressure of traditional stage movement.
Traditional Roots
While I love the energy of Bollywood and modern fusion, my training is deeply rooted in Bharatanatyam. We cover the history of dance, rhythm (Taal) theory, and technique. My students often prepare for certifications under the Nupur Zankar Kala Kendra, giving them a structured path to grow as artists while maintaining that joyful connection to our Indian heritage.
Whether you are looking to prepare for a wedding sangeet in Dadar or just want to attend a weekly class to destress and move, I am here to help you find your rhythm.
