Dance is a constant process of growth. Here are the raw, unfiltered moments from my own training—because the best teachers are the ones who never stop being students.

A moment of vulnerability. I was unhappy with my performance in this class, but I'm sharing it to show that it's okay not to be perfect. The goal is to enjoy the class and the attempt, not just to excel.

Attending a workshop always reminds me why I fell in love with dance classes in the first place. Here I am, just being a student, soaking in the choreography and enjoying the process.

Exploring a different style with a beautiful sitting choreography. This shows that dance isn't just about big movements; it can also be about subtle, expressive storytelling.

A lovely class learning a beautiful piece to 'Sawar Loon'. Being a student helps me stay inspired and bring fresh ideas to my own choreography and workshops.

Enjoying a wonderful workshop on a classic song. I believe in constantly learning and experiencing different teaching styles to enrich my own craft.

About My Dance Journey

When I step into a workshop as a student, I'm not just learning choreography; I'm experiencing the same anxiety, excitement, and struggle to coordinate that you might feel in my classes. Sharing these moments helps me keep my own teaching fresh, empathetic, and grounded. It reminds me that it is perfectly okay to stumble, forget a step, and laugh about it, because that is where the real fun happens.

Why I Keep Learning

I truly believe that if I stop being a student, I stop growing as a choreographer. Whether I am at Enso or Ukiyo studios in Malad or catching a workshop with a fellow artist, these sessions are where I recharge. They help me break out of my comfort zone, explore new styles, and bring that 'dhamakedar' energy back to my own workshops.

The Workshop Experience

When you see me in these videos, you are seeing the process: the tired rehearsals, the ‘siyapa’ of trying to catch the beat, and the final joy of nailing a routine. It is never about being perfect. It is about:

  • Staying Curious: Learning different teaching styles helps me create better, more inclusive choreography for my clients.
  • Emotional Connection: From semi-classical 'abhinaya' to high-energy Bollywood, exploring these genres helps me teach you how to tell a story with your moves.
  • Vulnerability: Showing that even I struggle with steps makes the studio environment judgment-free. When you come to my class, you do not need to be a pro—you just need to be ready to have a blast.

I share these because I want my students to know that I am right there with them, navigating the same challenges. Let’s keep moving, keep learning, and keep the ‘happy madness’ alive.
