My Dance Diary: Expressive Bollywood & Semi-Classical Choreography
Life in motion. Impromptu dance moments, semi-classical expressions, and the joy of finding rhythm wherever I go.
My mandatory birthday reel! Juggling work and a baby makes it hard to follow my passion, but I try to make sure I dance on my birthday. A semi-classical piece to 'Rang Sharbaton Ka'.
Let's go classical for this one! I totally enjoyed dancing to this beautiful piece of music, 'Jiya Jale', blending classical and semi-classical styles.
Shot this on the very edge of the Falachan river in Himachal. No planned choreography, just dancing to the music in my mind amidst the beautiful nature of Tirthan Valley.
I dedicate this song to my husband. A special anniversary dance shot by my lovely sister by the river, a heartfelt performance to 'Suno Na'.
Happy Anniversary to us! A simple, one-take dance to 'Kesariya' to celebrate our togetherness. Sometimes the most spontaneous moments are the most special.
It had been two months postpartum, and it felt so good to dance again. A small, happy piece to celebrate feeling better and to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
A semi-classical fusion piece to the beautiful song 'O Mitwa' from Lagaan, shot in a lovely garden. Dance is my way of expressing love and joy.
In love with this song and choreography. A semi-classical dance to 'Ek Dil Ek Jaan', performed in a beautiful, serene space.
Practicing classical dance has been on hold for a while, but this trip to Coorg helped me reconnect with my roots. A semi-classical pose in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Meera ke prabhu! A short video focusing on the expressions, or 'abhinaya', of classical dance. This is a core part of my training and what I love to teach.
About My Dance Diary: From My Heart to Yours
Most of the videos in this diary were shot in one take. There are no studio lights here, just me, my family filming, and the music. This is my real-world process, because I believe in capturing the feeling of the moment, a philosophy I bring to every Sangeet or event I choreograph for you.
My dance style is built on my foundation in Bharatnatyam, but I love the freedom of Bollywood and the soulful expression of semi-classical music. When I choreograph for weddings or festivals, I do not look for technical perfection at the cost of joy. I look for the connection you share with the music and the people you are dancing with.
Whether you want a romantic couple routine for your Sangeet, a high-energy group number for your friends, or a traditional Garba set, I focus on steps that are easy to learn but beautiful to watch. Many of my clients are non-dancers who are nervous about performing. My approach removes that stress. We focus on natural expressions, comfortable formations, and choreography tailored to your specific outfit or venue constraints.
If you are in Bangalore, we can meet for in-person rehearsals where I guide you through stage blocking and synchronization. If you are planning a destination wedding or are based elsewhere, my online video tutorial packages include virtual correction sessions to ensure you feel confident. Let us create a routine that feels like you.
