Dance Classes for Kids and Youth in Mumbai
I create a space where kids don't just learn steps, they find their rhythm and confidence. From traditional folk to expressive Bollywood, we make every class a celebration.
Look at the joy on their faces. This is my kids' group performing a patriotic folk dance for Independence Day. We use props like these colorful dupattas to make learning fun and performances vibrant.
My lovely little Gopikas celebrating Janmashtami in class. It’s so wonderful to see them embrace our culture and festivals through dance, dressed in beautiful traditional attire.
It was a pleasure to be a guest lecturer for 5th graders at Mount Litera school. We had an interactive session on expressive dance, where the students learned some basics and even tried a few moves. I love making workshops interactive and fun for everyone.
About Kids & Youth Classes
Every batch is kept small—just 10 to 15 students—so I can focus on your child's technique while they have fun. We do not just drill steps; we include theory and periodic video analysis so they can actually see their own progress over the 8 monthly sessions.
Building Confidence Through Movement
For me, teaching kids is about much more than just choreography. It is about helping them find their own voice through dance. Whether we are exploring the graceful mudras of Bharatanatyam or the high-energy beats of a Bollywood number, my goal is to make sure every child walks out of the studio with a smile.
What We Cover
In our group classes, we balance the discipline of classical technique with the freedom of modern movement:
- Classical Foundation: We introduce the basics of Bharatanatyam, including Adavus and Mudras, to build a strong physical base.
- Indian Folk: From Garba to Dandiya, we explore the vibrancy of our traditional folk dances.
- Theory & Rhythm: We don't just dance; we learn. We cover the history of dance and rhythm (Taal) so students understand the art form deeply.
- Stage Readiness: We prepare for annual day performances and festivals, helping kids overcome stage fright.
- Certification: For those interested in formal recognition, we provide training for grade exams under Nupur Zankar Kala Kendra.
The Class Experience
I run these classes in batches of 10 to 15 students. This size allows me to give personal attention to every child. We meet twice a week for 60 minutes. Because I believe dance is a living art, we use periodic video recording so students can see their own movements, learn from their mistakes, and feel the pride of improvement. It is a space where children can explore, stumble, laugh, and grow together.
