This cafeteria's motto is "Lite Lo Yaaro!" (Take it easy, friends!). The space features playful typography, creative ceiling details, and comfortable seating to encourage employees to relax and socialize.

The secret to a successful social zone isn't just bright colors; it is zoning. We focus on creating distinct zones for different energy levels, from high-energy 'Khau Galli' style cafeterias for quick lunches to quiet library-style lounges for afternoon coffee. Before you start, consider the acoustics—we use acoustic baffles and specific material palettes to ensure that a bustling cafeteria doesn't become a noise disturbance for the adjacent workstations.
When we take on a social zone project, we look at it as a community builder. Whether it is a massive 2.5 lac sq ft cafeteria for 11,000 people or a small break-out corner, the principles remain the same: make it inviting, functional, and durable.
The 'Khau Galli' Approach
We don't believe in boring canteens. We draw inspiration from local street food culture, creating environments that feel lively and familiar. This includes bold graphics, vibrant murals, and a mix of seating styles—high-top communal tables for quick interactions, booths for privacy, and flexible furniture that can be rearranged for town halls or all-hands meetings.
Technical Precision
Behind the fun atmosphere is serious engineering. Our office designs prioritize:
- MEP Integration: Exposed ceilings look great, but they require careful coordination of HVAC ducting, electrical loops, and fire safety systems. We ensure everything is technically sound without sacrificing the industrial aesthetic.
- Lighting Design: We move away from generic tube lights. We use statement fixtures, layered lighting, and warm tones to create a welcoming ambiance that shifts throughout the day.
- Durability: Cafeterias see heavy foot traffic. We specify materials like patterned tiles, concrete finishes, and easy-to-clean laminates that look good for years.
Collaboration and Wellbeing
Our designs often integrate biophilic elements, such as green walls and indoor planters, to lower stress and improve air quality. We treat these recreation spaces as an extension of the workspace, ensuring that a quick coffee break can easily turn into a collaborative session.
